Another observation: after moving one movie to a new path and letting PVD discover that, I get the same error now on this movie too

Which had no problem before I moved it!

Please check if the issue is fixed with IMDB plugin version 0.9.8.23

still problem. Though it does not crash PVD anymore, it is somehow looping in downloading from IMDB.

Can you post your plugin configuration. I can't reproduce the problem here.
