Title: Comodo false positive
Post by: stepp2 on September 24, 2009, 06:10:04 am
Hi everybody,

It looks like I am first to notice that comodo with new antivirus update goes positive on pvd_setup.exe v0.9.9.14 with message "unclasified malware". my comodo antivirus is set on access scan, with low heuristics. and I just got false positive from pvd setup on file manager access to pvd_setup.exe folder.
I uploaded pvd_setup.exe to virus total and here is the link to virus total scan: http://www.virustotal.com/analisis/3cb2473b42993087169b719a3c68a5e4c4462e2f81f57dbfaf3d0dd34536e0c8-1253767393 (http://www.virustotal.com/analisis/3cb2473b42993087169b719a3c68a5e4c4462e2f81f57dbfaf3d0dd34536e0c8-1253767393)

tip for novice: This is no doubt false positive. The install is safe. It's probably packer triggering the alarm.
You can always exclude pvd_setup.exe from comodo antivirus scan by adding pvd_setup.exe to your safe (exclusions) file list in comodo.
How to submit false positive to comodo: http://internetsecurity.comodo.com/submit.php (http://internetsecurity.comodo.com/submit.php)

good luck to all, and thanks author for great program.

Thank you, stepp2 for your support and trust for the project  ;)

No problem, Comodo has 'trigger happy' antivirus , but I like it that way ;) .. this  project has great future, personally, I consider PVD to be among those great applications like Imageburn, uTorrent (sadly, ending with version 1.7.7 :( , by my security standards ) , XnView, Free Commander  or Opera. Closed source, but developer(s) knows what he is doing  ;D

I check thoroughly programs I love.

Great respect for you and your team, and project, keep up the good work  ;)
