I have tried uninstalling (deleting) PVD from my downloads folder, including using Registry cleaners, but when I re-install the left hand pane is still black. Can anybody help me overcome this please. My .bak file still exists should I delete that and the MOVIES.PVD to get rid of the black pane   ???

By the way I am using version 1.0.2.7. I have tried clicking on restore and nothing happened except that the number of movies now reads 0

Hello
My problem started with a notice saying database not loading (or something like that). Restarting Windows 7 cured the problem. Now PVD is opening but the left pane, which should have my list of movies is blank and blacked out. I have tried re-starting to no avail, so I assume I need to re-install PVD. However, I am worried I will lose the database. I do have a reasonably up to date back up, which consists of MOVIES.PVD and movies.pvd.bak, but  I dont know how to use them. Has someone got a solution to the problem and if that involves using the back up, can you give me a simple step by step run through the procedure please

Hello Ivek23, I thank you again for all your time and help. This is all new territory for me and although quite confusing, I think the problem may have been solved. That of course, is unless it starts playing up again lol. I have found many work arounds for other things that I did not know about  and am still learning all the time. Thank you again. John

Thank you very much for your advice, which is all a bit complicated for me. However, I think I followed your instructions correctly but unfortunately it did not correct the problem.

Hello again

I thought the problem had solved itself. but it has reoccurred for no apparent reason. I download using information from Imdb EN and have attached a copy of the problem and the version of PVD being used. With regard to the script, that is beyond my knowledge as I don't how to use Scripts. Sorry for my ignorance ???

Thank you for taking the time to reply to me on Christmas Day. Somehow and I don't really understand why, but the problem seems to have righted itself. It was not the Posters list but the Movie list downloaded from Imdb EN. Anyway, thank you again

I cannot read the poster choice lists because the lines are not separated properly, i.e. they are so close together, they mingle into each other. Difficult to describe, but I hope problem is understood, how do I fix it please  ::)

Hello. What a great program ;) Quite proud of myself, I have managed to get everything working pretty well, which is a fete for an old dimwit like me. Came across one problem this afternoon. I wanted to rescan my movies folder for new addition etc and it said I didn't have permission. I therefore, logged in, but thereafter lots of icons and more importantly preferences were greyed out. I noticed that the heading said 'Read Only, which I changed in Properties, but it reverted back. I have since discovered that if I don't sign in (just click ok without entering any information) the programs starts as it should do and all is well.  ;D
