Actually, it's worst. Once PVD started, SOMETIMES no other program could be brought in front of PVD's window (by Alt+Tab, for instance, nor clicking on it's icon on a taskbar), until PVD's window is minimized by user, no matter if PVD's window is maximized or resized.

If Windows option to auto hide taskbar is checked, If PVD is maximized I can't invoke taskbar by moving cursor to the lower edge of screen, so I have to press WIN button on a keyboard to invoke it.

It was the same with PVD 1.0.23 beta

There are four issues described here:

I) Importing movies from IMDb doesn't work properly under certain conditions
II) Searching/reading IMDb by IMDb plugin doesn't work properly
III) Importing movie titles from IMDb doesn work properly under certain conditions
IV) Showing Titles and Original Titles in case they're the same isn't allowed.


Procedure to reproduce the problem:

IMDB plugin - logged in (same results while logged out)
IMDb plugin - all fields are set up to overwrite existing field values, including "Title" and "Original Title" fields.
IMDb site - logged in, page set up in localized language (not english) - (same results while logged out from the site)

I) 1. Importing movie (no file scan), see picture 1 attached, search phrase: Zero Dark Thirty

   2. Select movie, see picture 2 attached:

   2a. box no checked - one PVD movie entry

   2b. full box (greyed) - one PVD movie entry

   2c. checked box - two PVD movie entries??? (see picture 3 attached).

What the heck?


II) Now, let's get back to picture 2 attached - "Select movie" dialogue box. Look carefuly the name of first movie offered: it is 00:30 - Tajna operacija / 00:30 - Zero Dark Thirty" (2012)

Now: 00:30 - Tajna operacija is my contry's local name of the movie

But: 00:30 - Zero Dark Thirty" isn't the name of this movie in any country, and it should be English as original title, right? Why "00:30 - " was added to the "Zero Dark Thirty"? What's with the closing quotes anyway? Keep in mind picture one attached - I entered Zero Dark Thirty search phrase only.

III) No matter what procedure I use, my country's local name of the movie isn't imported?! Re-reading IMDb information doesn't produce desirable result.

IV) How to enable showing both Titles and Original Titles regardless they're the same or not?

I'm not programmer, so I don't understand the issue, but I found something that looks like it link in general to this issue: http://code.google.com/p/moviejukebox/wiki/PropertiesConfiguration#imdb.preferredCountry and later http://code.google.com/p/moviejukebox/wiki/PropertiesConfiguration#imdb.aka.scrape.title

1. Using IMDb plugin, I'm logging to IMDb via my IMDb account - the 1st picture attached.

2. My IMDb account is localized to my country - the 2nd picture attached.

3. What I'm trying to achieve is to automatically import three titles: Original Title imported to <origtitle>, Local Title imported to <title>, and English Title imported to <any specific PVD field / custom field>, but not <aka>, of course - final example would be as shown as in the 3rd picture attached.

Is it possible? Any idea how to achieve this goal?

Through "Feature suggestion", if it's not feasible at the moment?

I just tested Review importing and it really works great! But, there is an issue. It looks like script imports only first paragraph of Review tab at Allmovie.com.

I agree it would be useful as a hidden option when mass importing let's say less then 100 of movies. I could live with the fact that I'd have to check every entry after such "I'm feeling lucky" importing.

Is it just me, or AllMovie_New script doesn't work? Cannot import rating, Studio, Synopsis and Reviews fields that I use?

Maybe this is question for nostra. It was impossible to do anything in PVD in such case. You could try to open existing database - you wouldn't see data entries. You could try to create new one - you wouldn't see data entries, until provide H: drive.
