Yes it does make sense. Unfortunately there is no workaround for such a situation at this point.

 Nostra the bug is back.

Well actually I think I know what happens.

I use a skin that was modified for me (I can't find the post in this forum where I asked for this).
I asked to remove the "title" from the skin.
So when I modify a movie IN THAT SKIN, it gets save without a title.
Since my setting for the list on left is set to %T then it becomes blank.

Does it make sense?

I attach the skin for you to have a look.

Yes, it could come from the Skin, but you told me before that you had the problem with any skin, so I did not analyze this theory.
The whole thing still sounds very strange. Changing database does not change any program wide settings unless there is a configuration file near the database. It must be some wrong program state that you achieved somehow, but I can't find out what it actually is :(
Glad, that it fixed itself for you, thou :)

1) NO
2) NO

BUT after opening another database for testing, and reopening my database, the problem is now gone!!
I don't know how this is possible... by opening a different database did I reset some kind of setting??

I know I have played around with skins recently, do you think it could come from a skin?

I have looked over the whole code regarding changing the title and could not find anything that could produce such a strange effect.
We should probably try to narrow this down:
1. Does it happen with another database?
2. Do you have any ini files in same folder as the database?

Thats weird indeed, I will go through the code to check where the title could be deleted...

I went into preferences then changed the "show movie in the list as" from %T to %O and the title is back.

And after trying a few things it appears that if I change ANYTHING (e.g; year) in the film information card, the title disappears from the list.

Also looking at all records, I do not see any "title" field... How is this possible? I use IMDB script.

I've deleted all scripts and plug ins then uninstalled pvd then re-installed (keeping settings) and problem is not fixed.

I just tried what you suggested and I get the same issue.
When I edit a movie file path, title disappears from the left side list.

If I change the file path again to what it was then the title does NOT reappear.

Weird isn't it?

 What can I do?

Yes, I did, but could not reproduce the problem still. Could it be some script or plugin doing this? Try removing all scripts and plugins you are not using.

I can't reproduce the problem.
What Skin are using?
Can you send me your pvdconf.ini located in %APPDATA%\Personal Video Database

version: 1.0.2.7 (I recently upgraded to that version)
 File path was: \\Htpc\Disque 1 (D)\teeth\teeth.avi

And I changed it to: XXX

I have used that methos for years, when I delete a movie from my Hard drive, I keep the record but delete the file path and change it to "XXX"

Thanks

Hi all,
I cannot explain to myself what is going on.
If I change the file path of a movie file, the title that is supposed to be displayed on the left of the page becomes blank.
See attached screen.
If I put back the initial file path the title stays blank.
Would you know what is going on?
