Title: Rottentomatoes Scraper
Post by: junk_struc on January 12, 2010, 01:50:06 am

Hi,

Thought I would put in a vote for a rottentomatoes scraper?  Really only interested in the RT % rather than getting a lot of information from the site.

I would then hope to be able to get that from PVD to JRiver MC via PVDImport.

Thanks
Craig

PS: read somewhere that there is a better site for rating other than RT, but can't remember what it is was.  If you know of a better site, that would also be fine.

Yeah, I have thought about it already. Most probably I'll create a script some time.

Excellent!!!

Forgot to mention that there does seem to be some work done on one for xbmc.  Not sure if helpful.  eg. http://blog.xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=55880

Whenever I find a film title of interest [mostly when I bought a movie] I key the data in manually.

Would LOVE to see it done automatically  8)

I would also be interested in a rottentomatoes-scraper. What I also like about that site is that they sometimes succinctly sum up the critiques in one sentence. This would be nice to add as a "review-tagline". Just an idea here - I have to admit, that the allmovies-rating in my experience is already close to the rottentomatoe one.

Hi Nostra, I hate to do this and I don't mean to put pressure on you who gave us that beauty PVD for free, but the one year anniversary of that quote has passed, and I would love to know if you started developing this scraper?

Here is another thread about it showing the interest there is for it:
