Title: Next record
Post by: buah on February 17, 2010, 08:52:39 pm
These days I'm downloading data from IMDb for all my entries, trying to avoid site changes regarding movies. The most of entries I downloaded in silent mode, but there were a couple of thousands I needed to process manually, because I had to enter some data for a custom made fields.

What I found it would be handy in a situation someone manually needed to edit more than two entries in a row was some kind of "Next-Previous record in single edit mode" button. CTRL+E, you edit record, than push the "Next" button and you are automatically in edit mode for the next entry in (non)filtered list.

Any thoughts on this? I'm willing to further clarify.

I think that would make a nice addition to my edit bar (http://www.videodb.info/forum_en/index.php?topic=1175.msg7987#msg7987) suggestion.

One of the most valuable advantages of PVD for me is the feel of "WYSIWYG" when in single edit mode (or "WYEditIWYG", as I like to call it :)). Any additional pop-up window for editing would be regressive IMHO. So, having an "edit bar" for advanced purposes looks to me as logical and perfect idea.
