Same down here (It worked till yesterday) + the IMDB rates with which I am completely lost with the thread (v.0.9.8.5)!

v.0.9.9.21 with XP Pro SP3.

Anybody knows how to un-install PVD? It doesn't show in the "Uninstall Programs". Simply delete all files and re-install?

Most obliged for any answer(s).

There is a file to uninstall the program.  See the attached images.

I think, however, that there is no need to uninstall the program, whereas the solution for this could be here. (http://www.videodb.info/forum_en/index.php/topic,3248.msg15966.html#msg15966)

Thank you Ivek23 for your quick reply. But...

1) Downloaded the files you suggest but does not work.
2) There is no PVD shortcut (Your picture 2) on the Programs Menu.
3) There is no such file "uninst" (Your picture 2) in the dir.
4) Files in my directory, as per picture included.

Kind Regards,

For the rest tomorrow will answer.

Thanks Ivek23. Will be waiting.

But I still think that I should erase everything and re-install the PVD. I only hope my backup and CSV file will work. Definately there is something wrong with the installation....

It is true, you are missing two unins000 file and the program can not uninstall.
I attach  unins000 file in the unins000.zip file. Download, unzip and unins000 file copy in PVD folder in Program Files. Now you can remove the entire PVD folder in Program Files.

Removal of PVD should be a last option.

I would first try in C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Personal Video Database folder remove pvdconf.ini , but first to make a copy of it and store it somewhere else for example, that in pvdconf.ini file (since there are may be some additional settings PVD, for removal  pvdconf.ini file, settings  will be lost)  the settings, which you could also come later (after re-installing PVD or after removal pvdconf.ini file and restart PVD and leaving only this, the create pvdconf.ini new file).

You can also try this:
I only hope my backup and CSV file will work.

Restore database will operate correctly only if you save the data in the database before the IMDb plugin or Imdb Movie script began to tolerate wrong information or stop working.

You can try it reinstall PVD, the installation program copied and repair already existing files.

If this does not work

Assuming the IMDB ("temporary") script should also work with v1.0.2.3, I tested it for two films. The script  worked and imported IMDB rating for "All the President's Men"" (1976) but not the "comments". However, the script imported nothing for "Spy Game" (2001) but the prompt "HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found".

Hi Ivek23 again.

Have tried all solutions you mentioned above to me. Deleted the old *.ini file. No change with the rebuilt one, "No movies found" when adding a new movie and no DVD cover from Amazon.uk
Re-installed latest v.09 over the old one. Opened my existing database, same results, although the Amazon DVD covers show-up, but after selecting, does not download: "No movies found" again.

I have not un-installed the program, as you suggested, till we finally find what is happening with the search, the IMDB ratings and the posters importing.

Patiently waiting...

The same situation. I still have the message "No movies found" when adding a new movie with IMDB plugin.

Waiting for solution, probably new version of the plugin.

In Imdb plugin should fix edit search results, so now displays a message: "No movies found" , therefore the new movies first use Imdb Movie script, then just Imdb plugin. To find and download the data in one step is better to use Imdb Movie + imdb batch file.

Imdb Movie + imdb batch file you can find it  here. (http://www.videodb.info/forum_en/index.php/topic,3248.msg15966.html#msg15966)

Hi Ivek23 again.

I have removed completely the program and old *.ini file.
Re-Installed. Updated the program. Copied your batch file to the program's directory, as per the instructions above.

Everything seems to work properly with the new movies, except: 1) No IMDB rating downloading and 2) No DVD cover image import from Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.com. Have to download them manually.

Am I doing something wrong?

Yes, definitely there is something wrong, because at my IMDB rating works
normally transferred IMDB rating (see attached picture).

Similarly, the DVD cover image import from Amazon.com (see attached picture). Amazon.com has transferred substantially all the DVD cover image (but exceptions when DVD cover image does not transfer).

Amazon.co.uk is other story. Finds DVD cover image for the movie you are looking for, but does not transfer any DVD cover image for the movie you are looking for (see attached picture).

As for Amazon.co.uk plugin or Amazon.com plugin, will both be in the future necessarily updated.

Hi Ivek23 again.

Changed the Poster default from .uk to .com and now it imports the DVD/Bluray cover. The problem now is that the film info is not imported! (see the attached pic).

I also enclose the Web search files -if I am doing something wrong- and the plugins defaults.

I am afraid I am not very good in modifications...

The problem now is that the film info is not imported! (see the attached pic).

You are  doing something wrong - in the plugins defaults.

Logically, there is no data transfer, because Imdb plugin is marked as the default plugin for download movie information. I suppose that Imdb.com default page for the movie data information. I have not seen it anywhere in the picture Imdb Movie + imdb batch file . That you add to Plugin folder and mark it as the default instead of Imdb plugin, then it will definitely work for data transfer.
The same situation. I still have the message "No movies found" when adding a new movie with IMDB plugin.

I am not in a hurry to get this fixed cause I can still manually update using IMDB URL. Is this going to be the official fix or should I wait for the fix through auto update? No problem waiting few days but too long....

Thanks for the help guys, however I am still having problems

1. I downloaded
Imdb Movie + imdb.batch (Unzipped then placed in plugins folder
Imdb Movie(1) (removed the (1) from file name so now it reads Imdb Movie.psf) (Placed this in scripts folder)

2. After this didn't work I decided to completely remove all files and settings (kept my backups on a separate hdd) still after following the above steps this doesn't work for me. The program begins to download bytes from IMDB but then it stops and hangs until I force close it.

3. I don't know what to do next? Should I try the version 1.0.2.3? If so I have no idea where to find it?

Welcome to the forum, 80sfanboy.

First Imdb Movie script, then Imdb plugin.

Must be all like:
Code: [Select]
NAME=Imdb Movie script+IMDB
DESC=Get movies information from IMDB.com
TYPE=2
EXECUTE=Imdb Movie.psf|imdb.dll

Once again, check all because a mistake somewhere, I'm sure, because for me everything is OK, everything works as it should work.

I suspect that the message "No Movies Found" cause Imdb Movie script that incorrectly recorded Url movie title. Please let me know the exact Url movie title or more exact URL address of movies, which cause problems. So I'll see if it is really problematic download URL addresses and possibly solve the problem, because I do not yet  to use Windows 7, well I can not do tests to be able to find the error.

For example the correct URL address:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0214388/

It's happening with every movie title I have tried in the last 3 days. It's not just a few titles :( I have tried over 50. If you look at the pic you can see I have added in a lot of movies since I have started using the software. I movie script works for grabbing information at least for the rating and URL values but fails to go any further than that. It's quite bizarre. Is there a beta version 1.0.2.3 or is that something else? Can somebody please link me to a download of it

Link to the beta version 1.0.2.3 :
http://www.videodb.info/forum_en/index.php/topic,3151.0.html

No, it is not necessary to use it.

Your Imdb Movie script(original - Imdb Movie (1) script) downloads only the following information
Imdb Movie(1) script:

Here operates only what is described:

Quote
Currently it works:
  • search results
and data transfer:
  • URL
  • Imdb rating
  • Imdb votes
  • ImdbID
  • Top 250
Imdb Movie(1) script:
Now, Imdb votes again is enabled.
which the above-mentioned.

Quote
  • Imdb votes
  • ImdbID
  • Top 250
These are custom fields.

However this works for me but it only downloads the IMDB rating and URL. It then displays a message saying No Movies Found:( after it has communicated with IMDB, and yes I have made sure to have the correct plugin selected "Imdb Movie script+IMDB" to search for movie information.

Imdb plugin reports an error because Imdb Movie script does not transfer the correct URL.  Please, to do this, as mentioned below:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118972/
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106856/
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0913354/
These are the correct URL. Pass me the correct URL address.

These are the incorrect URLs in PVD URL field:
Quote
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118972/?ref_=fn_tt_tt_1
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106856/?ref_=fn_tt_tt_1
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0913354/?ref_=fn_tt_tt_1
or is incorrect may be only a fraction of  this
Quote
?ref_=fn_tt_tt_1
the last part of the above URL address.

Check.  If you have such an incorrect URL in PVD URL field, then you are Imdb plugin certainly will not transmit any data.

Yes, it is very difficult (you can add Drac2.png again, but with a higher resolution, to make sure if it is true), but now I think I know what it is and for what problem this time. It is Amazon.co.uk plugin and download the poster for the new movies.

Well, yes that seems to be the issue for it saying "No Movie Found" However after I deselect the "Poster" check box it doesn't give me the "No Movie Found" message anymore which is good, but it skips straight to image drac3 (It will only add the URL and IMDB Rating) - Somewhere along the lines I am not getting the rest of the movie/file information still

Just to add my small experience of the same: Check the "Poster" again, but switch your default, from Amazon.uk to Amazon.com and make shure that all the items are checked.

This will solve -temporarily- your "No movies found" message.

deleted pvdconf.ini - no change
(just a total reset of the settings and the loss of my customized websearches)

complete uninstall und reinstall.
still no change.

imdb script says "no movie found" when searching by title.
works if an imdb link is stored already.

I'm running out of ideas :)

Try this Movie Imdb (2) script.

If this script causes the same problem, then I do not know more. what is wrong with other users, because for me it works fine, no problems.

Imdb Movie(2) script is attached.

BTW:
Will now have the time, that Nostra makes a correction for Imdb plugin.

Below is an explanation of what would first need to do before you remove the
pvdconf.ini , but first to make a copy of it and store it somewhere else for example, that in pvdconf.ini file (since there are may be some additional settings PVD, for removal  pvdconf.ini file, settings  will be lost)  the settings, which you could also come later (after re-installing PVD or after removal pvdconf.ini file and restart PVD and leaving only this, the create pvdconf.ini new file).

Still not working. I have a backlog of about 50 movies now that need to be added lol.
Does it matter that I'm still running version 0.9.9.21?

:( I simply can't get it to work. I have read all of the pages on this topic again and tried everything mentioned again. I have tried 3 versions of the software and still I can't get any more information to be populated besides IMDB URL and Rating

I do not know if this will help you:

Try again to remove the program. Even before the reinstall the program, find if
remaining parts of the folders and files and remove them (if possible, if you know how, also clear the register, if there are residues records program - probably will not be necessary), only then reinstall the program.

It may be something better now.

I work as a system builder and I know windows quite well, however I'm not very good with other software. I have already removed every possible trace of the previous installation before I installed again. I now have 67 titles I need to add in :(

same difficulty "no movies found :(."

I went to tools, preferences, plugins and highlighted alternates for each of the current plugins and clicked "set as default" for the following types "movie information" (I chose TheMovieDB [en]), "poster import" (I chose Amazon [en]), and "people information" (chose EGAFD_People).

Something's borked with one or all of the prior plugins used to parse the webpages (imdb probably). These others seem to do as well and I no longer get "movie not found :("

I'm sure there's another solution upstream in this thread but I'm damned if I understand it (work in IT too).

oh, the other piece of critical information I left out: I had to exit PVD and restart it before the changes to default plug-ins were in effect. I think.

When will Nostra return?

After deleting the Plugins folder and checking for an update forcing the software to download all required Plugins again, I can now gather all of the missing information (Only by entering the URL and then updating the information Ctrl+Alt+I) I also made sure I had Silent mode for plugins checked down the bottom of the plugins page. I hope this helps somebody else too.

EDIT* I still needed Imdb Movie(2).psf in script folder and Imdb Movie + imdb.batch in plugins folder for this to work

Maybe to this
Perhaps it would not be these problems, if I had a script The new url address for search results and also small correction in code for Search results section.
earlier solution for created the problem.
