Support / Re: AdultDVDEmpire Script is off again

I installed Proxomitron in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Proxomitron", the replacement default.cfg has been copied to that folder. And I downloaded and copied the zlib.dll, libeay32.dll, ssleay32.dll, and msvcrt70.dll into the Proxomitron folder as per your other thread.

Yet the "HTTP 1.1 404 Not Found" errors persist in PVD.

I've tried disabling both my antivirus and firewall (Avast and Comodo, respectively) to no effect.

I just don't know what's going on here...

Still not working right... I've got the new ADE script in my scripts folder, installed and configured Proxomitron per your other post, set PVD to use localhost/80 for proxy, yet every time I try to run an import via ADE script, it fails with  "HTTP 1.1 404 Not Found".

What am I missing here?

Ivek, I'm having problems with ADE too. I installed Proxomitron per your other thread on the subject, and I'm using the default.cfg from your previous post in this thread. But I'm still getting a "404" error from PVD each time I try to run the ADE import script. I haven't made any changes to the script (though I tried the https: edit that tvaronos tried, with the same results).

Any ideas?

One more bug I discovered, when you run the script it does a search on ADE based on your specified movie title, and displays a list of the matches found in a window so you can select the best match. But the last item in said list is always blank... and if the search only returned one hit to begin with, then all you get is a blank box.

I'll try to work on this when I can, but considering ADE's search engine always returns dozens of hits for almost every search, it's not a real high priority for me.

I just wanted to say, thanks to Ivek for all his work keeping PVD working. I still think PVD is the best database for movies, even if the core program hasn't been updated in awhile. Keeping up with all those website changes over these past couple of years can't have been easy (I know, I've been trying to maintain a single site script myself and still can't quite get everything right).

I do hope nostra will come back to this project eventually (or at least release the source code), but in the interm, kudos to Ivek for refusing to give up on it.

Thanks again!

The Adult DVD Empire Script Needs a Major Update

I just posted an update to the ADE script in the scripting sub-forum. Fixes a few problems with the website since TBach1979 posted his request, still has one or two issues, but it's better than nothing.

(P.S. - I am not the original author of the script.)

Sorry I haven't been updating the script, haven't been able to work with PVD much lately.

More changes on ADE website. Script wasn't finding the production year, tagline or description... fixed.

Also, I discovered that not only was the film duration not being calculated correctly (its value should be in seconds, not minutes), but it wasn't even being saved to the correct XML field (and thus not actually being saved at all).

(As always, save as "adultdvdempire.psf" in the scripts folder.)

More fixes... script wasn't finding Genre or Studio or Duration or Release Date, the list of actors was getting extra (bad) entries, the director's name was getting extra text appended to it, the Release Date was formatted incorrectly (and not stored). And, if a producer was present, the script would go into an infinite loop (yikes!) because it wasn't being parsed correctly.

Hopefully this covers most of the recent site changes.

A couple of (minor) fixes...

I noticed the script wasn't importing Tagline, Description, or Customer Rating ("Additional Rating") anymore. Fixed this, new version attached.

Note that ADE now uses the movie title as a tagline by default when a movie doesn't have a specific tagline. So the "Tagline" field will receive text for every movie now, regardless of whether it's really a tagline or not. This can't be worked around, unfortunately. (If I were really clever, I'd compare the extracted "tagline" to the movie title, and set the tagline to null if they matched. If I were clever. :) )

Also, note that ADE changed the way the movie categories (genres) are listed, breaking the script. So the script isn't importing that info right now. This is going to take some work to fix (the categories/genres are going to have to be parsed the same way actors are parsed), and I'm not quite able to wrap my head around the problem right now...

Hey Ivek,

I'm a little confused about which is the latest IAFD script? There are multiple message threads here, and I'm not sure which has the definitive version...

Huh. I haven't had much of a chance to play around with the new script yet. Maybe pra15 has an idea...

(By the way, ADE *really* needs to stop mucking with their site design. The new page layouts are God-awful! :P)

Thanks, pra15!

Here is the complete script, version bumped to now.

I had to make a minor edit, ADE changed the HTML near the "Matches Found" text (the script wouldn't interptret it properly otherwise). But it seems to work now.

Can someone post a link/attachment for the complete, corrected, up-to-date version of this script, please? Thanks.

I want to use the iafd people script, but it's not working as expected for me.

When I am in People view and use the Import feature with iafd_people(full) selected, nothing happens. I briefly see the connection status at the bottom of the PVD window, but none of the fields for that person get updated. I also tried the same thing with the regular iafd_people, no difference. But I can call up the info page for the same person in my web browser and see all the usual bio, photo, filmography, etc.

I'm using PVD 1.0 with the latest versions of the iafd_people scripts from this thread (replies 7 and 8, I think). I checked the Overwrite options for the selected script in the Import tab, and all fields are set to overwrite.

I've also tried adding a few completely new people (chosen at random from the IAFD) and running the scripts against them, with the same results... no data imported.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks, Ivek. good to hear Nostra IS still out there, somewhere. Now we just gotta find where is hiding himself these days. :)

I suppose that, as it stands right now, PVD is so functional that there isn't much that really needs doing to the program itself.

Still, people are having difficulties with various plugins, which can only be solved by Nostra rewriting the code. Hope he gets some time to work on those issues.

Support / Odd bug when switching views
« on: May 24, 2015, 02:52:14 pm »
Keep running into a minor bug in PVD 1.0 when changing between Movie and People views. Specifically, when using the Search functions.

If I am in Movies view, and enter something in the Search panel, I get a list of matching movies. If I then click on one movie, [optionally edit it], click on another, then switch to People view and back again, often the previously-selected movie is displayed again, NOT the more recently-selected one.

Something similar happens if I start off in People view, do a search, select a person, select another, then switch to Movies view and back again. PVD displays the record for the previously-selected person instead of the most-recently-selected one.

This doesn't happen ALL the time, but pretty frequently. It only happens the first time I switch views after doing a search. It doesn't happen anymore after switching views again... until the next time I do a search.

Admittedly, it's a VERY minor issue, but I figured I may as well report it anyway.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Start off in Movies view. Make sure the Search panel is visible.
2) Enter a search query where you know it will return multiple results.
3) Select one of the results in the list on the left.
4) Now select a different record.
5) Switch to People view.
6) Switch back to Movies view.

More often than not, PVD will display the record for the movie selected in step 3, rather than the one selected in step 4.

The same thing happens if you reverse Movie and People views in the steps above.

Has anyone heard from nostra (or, for that matter) recently? I find it worrying that they've both been silent for so long.

You're welcome.

I agree with you, there are some potential uses for creating aligned columns with tabs.
