You could have a look at
http://www.videodb.info/forum_en/index.php/topic,1453.0.html.
it was a long time ago when I wrote xbmc export, but from memory it dumped all images into the movie folder.

Plugins have been updated to Kodi, probably do same thing but better.
You could just use kodi export- It will give you a .nfo file with movie info + poster

Hi,

Not 100% sure what you're trying to do.
You could filter /sort on HD03.
And then bulk edit from grid view mode. (one of the icons in top right corner)
Select multiple lines and edit or Select "Mass Editor" from menu bar at top

Have you thought about re-scanning the location?
Click on:
Personal Video Database -> Tools -> Scan for new movies/Changed paths.
then point to new directory where movies are located.
It should update the path location.
(it will tell you path change)

Hi,
You could also look in recycle bin for file ending in ".pvd" in case it was accidentally deleted

This could be somewhat automated by doing an export/import.
Export with %filepath% then import back into custom field. PVD has the capabilities to replace text etc so it can be fully configurable.
I'll have a go at writing a script if I get time.

Also this works for network drives (handy  :) )
eg.
<link url="\\qnapi\movies">Age of Kill</link>

Hi,

yes:
<link url="file path">Name of link</link>

eg.
<link url="F:\Movie007\Age of Kill (2015)\">Age of Kill</link>

You will need to see which fields support this.
Comments field supports it.
Features field supports it

I don't know if this can be embedded automatically.
There is a %path% variable, but I don't know how to insert/automate this.
Perhaps a question for Nostra or Ivek23, if you want it done automatically

Support / Re: How to rename files/folder according to database?
« on: April 26, 2014, 02:58:16 pm »

But then PVD looses all connections to the files!?

You should be able to rescan, and PVD will pick them up as changed path or duplicates.
If the no of renames is small. You can manually edit the path name. in PVD.
Maybe try it on a new database wit a small No of files and see how it works.

Feature Suggestions / Separate TV / Movie profile
« on: April 07, 2014, 10:22:39 am »
Hi Nostra,

Would it be possible to have separate TV/Movie profile for importing?
Something like:
select "TV" profile" - would tell PVD you are importing TV show information and could be configured to import using your desired TV setup.
select "Movie" profile" - would tell PVD you are importing movie information and could be configured to import using your desired Movie setup.
This could allow TV series to be more easily managed and/or Movie-TV information to be stored in separate tables.

Hi nostra,

Is there any hope TMDB plugin will be updated please.
As Ivek23 says it stopped working on 20 September.
I think TMDB have new API, maybe plugin needs to be updated to take advantage of this?

Any news would be great.

Feature Suggestions / Re: File scanner - Change path
« on: June 01, 2013, 04:46:31 am »
Hi Nostra,
Congrats on new version - it is looking really good.

Just bumping this topic as it may have fallen off your radar ;).

In response to AIMHere.
All that is really required is to know old path/details. We can then manually check if an update or change is required.
To make it really useful, maybe have the old path as a click-able link that would open the record in a new window.
That would allow full verification of details and allow us to make a judgement on whether to update or not.

Cheers

Feature Suggestions / File scanner - Change path
« on: June 03, 2012, 12:50:15 pm »
Hi Nostra,

Would it be possible to display previous path when file scanner detects a "change path"
This would help when deciding whether to change path or not.

A hover "tooltip" type solution would be fine.

Thanks

Feature Suggestions / Add timer function when multiple results returned.
« on: February 21, 2012, 11:00:59 am »
Hi Nostra,

Would it be possible to add a timer (configurable) when multiple results from IMDB (or other search engines).
It would go far to automate the process.
If naming standards are followed  ie. Movie name (year) it is usually the first movie in the list. Automatically selecting this after 5 seconds  would give users an opportunity to select a different movie if incorrect.

This would be similar to how Thumbgen operates. http://thumbgen.org/.

Feature Suggestions / Add Poster Count to advanced search
« on: October 12, 2011, 11:43:12 am »
Hi Nostra,

Would it be possible to have a "Poster Count" to the advanced search. This is to find records that have multiple posters downloaded.
eg Poster count > 1 (or any no you wish).

Currently available is Poster "IS NULL" or "IS NOT NULL"

Thanks

Proxy setting in PVD should work.
There are fields for authenticating through proxy.

You can either check with lan administrator and get proxy settings or check Internet Explorer setting for the proxy that it is using.
If I.E is using a proxy.pac. Enter the full proxy.pac url into web browser and you should be able to download it. Edit it with notepad to find proxy settings.

If big company - maybe search intranet for proxy information

Under Tools Menu/Internet connection.
There are setting for using a proxy and user name and password fields as well.

I have had no problems using proxy at work and can confirm these setting work

Hi Movie.man

regular expression is difficult to understand.
PVD already comes preconfigured for common regular expressions.
For movies it reads the folder name rather than the files. the year helps to identify correct entry when search online databases.

most people adjust their movie naming standard to the regular expression.
I store my movies as ISO's rather than in video_ts folders.

The naming standard I use is the movie name as it appears in IMDB and in brackets the year.
eg. g:\multimedia\movies\Fingers (1978)\finger.pal.iso

or in your case
g:\multimedia\movies\Fingers (1978)\video_ts.
PVD will get the title from the folder name.

I have noticed if I have the same movie in 2 different locations, the scanner seams to flip flop between the two locations.

If you have the same movie as dvd in video_ts folder (or iso) and on avi., you could try storing them in the same folder and see what happens.

eg
J:\MEDIA\Film\DOCUMENTARY\Everest The Death Zone (2009)\PBS.NOVA - Everest - The Death Zone.avi
J:\MEDIA\Film\DOCUMENTARY\Everest The Death Zone (2009)\video_ts
