BTW. This problem just raise when I use New Movie Master.
I can modify the title to Chinese, the program will accept, no error raised.

for example:
just one character 恶
3 characters 锅盖头 中国字 打广告
5 characters 魔力女战士

i test several title, it is so strange!
even count characters is ok, but odd count characters will raise SQL Error.

I Google some similar problems, it actually exists.You program with C++?

This is a short explain. it is coding problem, CString to Unicode.
if the title is even count characters, so the bytes are even count, then it can be transformed to Wchar correctly.
but for odd count, the bytes are odd count, so it can not be transformed to Wchar correctly.

I hope this can help solve the problem.

In description or other Memo Type field, when you enter English (or other spell language, words separated by space) there is no problem. But when you enter Chinese (words do not separated by space), the words are become so strange. The words sort like a "L" shape.

I think  Bruce Willis is not the only name that can raise the error.
There maybe more, but i am a new user. i just know this one name.
i try it again, the problem is still there.
i try it on another computer, the problem is still there.

maybe the program are not very compatible with non-English OS.
for example my another post shows that when you enter some Chinese character title in New Movie Master dialogue, there will be a problem.SQL error.
but i can use a english title, and after download all the information, i change it to Chinese character.
it sounds a boring work, but i have no idea to sovle it. so i come here to ask for help.
i like this software! Thank you all the same!

Some of Chinese title are ok, but others are not.
For example: 锅盖头


PS: If i use New Movie, it can work correctly. But if i use New Movie Master the problem will be show.

I found this software 3 days ago. After comparing with other media management software, PVD is great!
I want to translate it to Chinese, and introduce it to other Chinese people.
There is a question: is this file "http://www.videodb.info/bin/english.rc"  is the newest version? 0.9.9.11?

The mouse pointer became sandglass, and the menubar disappear, and you can not click anything.
And the CPU is 50% of the viddb.exe. My CPU is Core2Duo. So I have to kill the process.


Maybe my OS is not English, so......
when i restart the program and click the name of "Bruce Willis", the program dead again.
I will still use it. But before I add a new actor, I'll backup the DB first.
But thank you all the same. There is no perfect program for all condition.

Support / problem adding actor "Bruce Willis"

I'm using 0.9.9.11. when I add a new actor "Bruce Willis", http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000246/
when the program download from imdb, the program freezed! And I kill the program, restart it.
But when I select "Bruce Willis", the program freezed again! ???

I try to add other actor, they do not have the problem! It is so strange!
Why Bruce Willis is so special?
