Is anyone else having trouble replying to most topics or creating a new one?  This is the only section I could find where the "reply" button was available.

I was able to make a new post in one of the other sections. Didn't realize others were having problems. Glad I stumbled across THIS section, or I might have thought the site was dead entirely. =(

Talk / PVD
« on: August 15, 2023, 10:07:38 pm »
Hi all,

Kind of sad to see this once-great software and website wither on the vine. PVD was such a great help to me in cataloging my burgeoning Internet videos library. But between Nostra leaving, the end of http: support on all the relevant data sites, and the never-ending changes to those sites, it's a wonder Ivek has been able to keep it working. Kind of shocked, really, that the domain registration never ran out, for one thing.

Personally, I had to stop using PVD a few years back. I could never get the "new/mod" version to work, not with the script I had been using. I just didn't have the programming skills needed to get it working with the new mod. Left off with less than half my collection scanned in.  :(

Recently built a new PC, and might try to reinstall it one more time. But I'm not hopeful that the process has become any easier.

I wish there were a video database software that was half as feature-packed and efficient as PVD...

Scripts and Templates / AdultDVDEmpire script
« on: December 05, 2020, 06:45:09 pm »
Hi,

I used to use PVD all the time to manage my adult movies collection, but stopped when the web switched to https: connections and broke it. I made an effort to adapt the adultdvdempire script when you guys came up with the proxy workaround, and again when you switched to the current solution, but I never made any progress and gave up.

I'd like to start using PVD again, though, but I'm afraid I just don't know what I'm doing with the scripting. Could someone have a look and see if you can get it working? My existing database is massive and I don't know if I can get it exported to a different video manager app.

I'm attaching the most recent version of the script. It's kind of a mess. I didn't write the original, just tried to update as ADE modified their page layouts...

Help.

Support / Export pictures
« on: December 20, 2018, 10:53:03 pm »
Hi,

I need to export all the posters and screenshots from my PVD database. Most (if not all) movies have a single poster (which is really the DVD box cover)... some have a single screenshot, while others may have two or three. I've played around with the XML export template, but can't get it to do what I want.

I'd like to export the posters with filenames like "<title>-poster-<n>.jpg", and the screenshots as "<title>-screenshot-<n>.jpg", where "<title>" is the movie title, and "<n>" is the number of the image (where multiple images exist for a given movie).

So I modified a copy of the "XML (Movies)" export template, deleting most of the movie fields except for Title, adding "<screenshots>{%value=screenshots}</screenshots>"after the Posters line, and added the following line in the "%OPTIONS% section:

Code: [Select]
imagenameformat="%t%-%fs%-%in%%ext%"
Running the export seems to generate images with the correct filenames in the "images" subfolder.  "%t%" gets replaced by the movie title, "%fs%" is replaced by either "poster" or "screenshot", "%n%" gets replaced by a number (usually "1"), and "%ext%" gets replaced by ".jpg", as expected.

However, PVD is only exporting the FIRST image in each category. In other words, if a movie has multiple posters or screenshots, PVD only exports the first one.

How do I modify this so that it exports ALL the posters and screenshots, and numbers them appropriately?

Other solutions and scripts will be ready for the near future, according to the users' wishes.

I'd like to request that the AdultDVDEmpire script be adapted for this mod. I've been sort of maintaining the ADE script in the past, but I can lo longer get PVD and Proxomitron to play nice together. From what I can glean from looking at the mod's scripting, the mod uses an external program to download all https:// web pages, then parses them locally. This is beyond my capabilities to adapt.

Thanks,

This window always appears for the first time. If you allow for session, the popup window will no longer show up until you close Proxomitron and restart it. This is the only option that there is no occurrence of this window, as far as I have noticed until now, except, if there is any new information that needs to be confirmed in this window.

I figured it had to be something like that. Thanks, Ivek.

I tell you, it's sad that we PVD users have to resort to jumping through hoops to keep this program working. I wish Nostra would just release the source code as open-source and be done with it. Let someone else with actual interest in the program take it over. :(

Updated script due to ADE HTML changes (again)...

(Note: this does not solve the use of enforced HTTPS on ADE, see http://www.videodb.info/forum_en/index.php/topic,4083.0.html and http://www.videodb.info/forum_en/index.php/topic,4108.0.html for help with that.

Hmm, I don't get that pop-up at all. I also open the Proxomitron log window, and aside from references to hashing adlist and aliaslist when I manually re-load the config file, I see no activity at all.

Strange.

I tried temporarily setting my Windows internet settings to use the proxy at 127.0.0.1/port 80, then type "http://www.adultempire.com" into my web browsers, but they immediately redirect to "https://www.adultempire.com" and the page fails to load ("Can't reach this page", "400 Bad request", etc.). This happens in Firefox, Edge, and IE11.

Try the proxy at 127.0.0.1:8888

It might be the below added rar files have something to help. Unzip Lists file. Lists file and default.cfg file copy into the Proxomitron folder.

Test it, it may work.

Okay, now we're finally getting somewhere! After changing the port to 8888 in both PVD and Proxomitron (which requires restarting Proxomitron, it seems), PVD can now connect to adultempire.com.

I am getting those pop-up windows regarding the security certificate, is there any way to bypass those?

Sadly, recent ADE site changes have once again broken the import script, it's not grabbing cover/poster images and some other metadata. But that's a separate issue. Time to start digging into the page source and script code again (sigh...)

Thanks for the help, Ivek.

P.S. - running all of this on Windows 10 64-bit, fully updated (including Fall Creators Update). I did a search and it seems Proxo should work on Win10...

I installed Proxomitron in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Proxomitron", the replacement default.cfg has been copied to that folder. And I downloaded and copied the zlib.dll, libeay32.dll, ssleay32.dll, and msvcrt70.dll into the Proxomitron folder as per your other thread.

Yet the "HTTP 1.1 404 Not Found" errors persist in PVD.

I've tried disabling both my antivirus and firewall (Avast and Comodo, respectively) to no effect.

I just don't know what's going on here...

Still not working right... I've got the new ADE script in my scripts folder, installed and configured Proxomitron per your other post, set PVD to use localhost/80 for proxy, yet every time I try to run an import via ADE script, it fails with  "HTTP 1.1 404 Not Found".

What am I missing here?

Ivek, I'm having problems with ADE too. I installed Proxomitron per your other thread on the subject, and I'm using the default.cfg from your previous post in this thread. But I'm still getting a "404" error from PVD each time I try to run the ADE import script. I haven't made any changes to the script (though I tried the https: edit that tvaronos tried, with the same results).

Any ideas?

One more bug I discovered, when you run the script it does a search on ADE based on your specified movie title, and displays a list of the matches found in a window so you can select the best match. But the last item in said list is always blank... and if the search only returned one hit to begin with, then all you get is a blank box.

I'll try to work on this when I can, but considering ADE's search engine always returns dozens of hits for almost every search, it's not a real high priority for me.

I just wanted to say, thanks to Ivek for all his work keeping PVD working. I still think PVD is the best database for movies, even if the core program hasn't been updated in awhile. Keeping up with all those website changes over these past couple of years can't have been easy (I know, I've been trying to maintain a single site script myself and still can't quite get everything right).

I do hope nostra will come back to this project eventually (or at least release the source code), but in the interm, kudos to Ivek for refusing to give up on it.

Thanks again!

The Adult DVD Empire Script Needs a Major Update

I just posted an update to the ADE script in the scripting sub-forum. Fixes a few problems with the website since TBach1979 posted his request, still has one or two issues, but it's better than nothing.

(P.S. - I am not the original author of the script.)

Sorry I haven't been updating the script, haven't been able to work with PVD much lately.

More changes on ADE website. Script wasn't finding the production year, tagline or description... fixed.

Also, I discovered that not only was the film duration not being calculated correctly (its value should be in seconds, not minutes), but it wasn't even being saved to the correct XML field (and thus not actually being saved at all).

(As always, save as "adultdvdempire.psf" in the scripts folder.)

More fixes... script wasn't finding Genre or Studio or Duration or Release Date, the list of actors was getting extra (bad) entries, the director's name was getting extra text appended to it, the Release Date was formatted incorrectly (and not stored). And, if a producer was present, the script would go into an infinite loop (yikes!) because it wasn't being parsed correctly.

Hopefully this covers most of the recent site changes.

A couple of (minor) fixes...

I noticed the script wasn't importing Tagline, Description, or Customer Rating ("Additional Rating") anymore. Fixed this, new version 0.1.2.6 attached.

Note that ADE now uses the movie title as a tagline by default when a movie doesn't have a specific tagline. So the "Tagline" field will receive text for every movie now, regardless of whether it's really a tagline or not. This can't be worked around, unfortunately. (If I were really clever, I'd compare the extracted "tagline" to the movie title, and set the tagline to null if they matched. If I were clever. :) )

Also, note that ADE changed the way the movie categories (genres) are listed, breaking the script. So the script isn't importing that info right now. This is going to take some work to fix (the categories/genres are going to have to be parsed the same way actors are parsed), and I'm not quite able to wrap my head around the problem right now...
