Talk / Re: i found a new database program: EMDB
« on: May 06, 2011, 05:04:48 pm »
I have also I've checked/tested all these catalog programs both free and paid and I find PVD the best there is! Only another program is close to it, named EAX but the developer has stopped developing it. In EAX I liked best (and I still like) the clear interface, compared to PVD. But in term of options PVD is the best! If PVD could look like EAX it would be unbeatable!

Thank you!!!!! Thank you so much!! I think this topic must be sticky! You have done an excellent job!

Something more, a suggestion, but not so important: Can you make another script for importing the back.jpg (or whatever name) as the back of a dvd case and put is as "back cover"?

Again thank you very very much for your poster script!!

Hi Einar!

Thank you for your script. It is really very usefull! Well, it will be for me if you could change the filename of the poster :-). I mean that all my movies posters have the name "folder.jpg". Could you make a varied type of your script that imports the poster with this name inside the movie's folder? Thank you in advance!

Support / Re: How to set PVD take as movie title the folder's name?
« on: April 14, 2011, 09:22:13 pm »
Thank you very much for your answer!! It works perfect! Only I have some folders that include some 2 or 3 sub-folders and inside them are my videos. The program is reading as title of the movies the names of the subfolders and not the parent folder. I find out that if I put a number in front of the sub-folder's names it is fine! The program reads the parent folder name as title of the movie. Thank you again for your help and for your fine program!

Support / How to set PVD take as movie title the folder's name?
« on: April 13, 2011, 05:04:43 pm »
Hi!

I am using PVD for cataloging my homemade instructional videos. I have store them in my hdd, its video under a folder with the title of the "movie". Sometimes in a folder are 2 or more videos. Anyway, I want PVD to purse the folder's name as movie title when I scan my drive with the "scan folders" option. How I do that? I searched the preference but I didn't find any options for this...

"""(the . and _ because I don't want to change the names of my videos in the database

What do you mean by "name?" This is for replacing characters in the title, not the file name."""

Yes rick.ca, you are right! I meant the characters in title not file name.

nostra, I very glad that you you found the problem. Waiting for the next release!

Ok. here is how to reproduce the problem. On fresh install (I have unistalled the program including the configuration file), I open my database (about 940 titles). Then I go to Tools --> Preferences and I open the files scanner tab. I DELETE THE LAST LINE in find and replace window (the . and _ because I don't want to change the names of my videos in the database). I press OK and this is it. I hope this helps...

nostra I'll try to do what you say and I'll tell you!

Hi again!

Now I have another problem! I have a list with 900+ video files and when I try to open the preferences tab, I get a crach. If I choose to continue with the application then the list of movies is turned black.

I attach the bug report file.

Support / Can't import wmv files: Buglet
« on: February 05, 2010, 01:01:55 am »
Hi!

I downloaded the program and I found it perfect!!! Except from this annoying thing: In the folder I have my video files, when I choose the  "scan folders for new movies etc" it finds and lists all the movies except from the wmv files! And yes, I have checked the precerences and says .wmv among the other files (.avi, .mov etc)
Is this a bug of I am doing something wrong? The funny thinf is that I can import the wmv files one by one from the new movie master.

I am running windows XP SP3
Thanks in advanced!
