Development / export to CSV - me again at it

Hello,

As my collection keeps expanding, the DB keeps growing, I'd love to have more control over it.

For this procedure I need to export it to CSV.

I have CSVed 2.3.2 to help me modify the file.

And that is essentially it. I'm terrible at it, lost 5 hours without any results.

 Why? Probably due to the number of extra/ personal fields I created over the years.

 I don't understand how databases work, let alone excel. /kingsoft, OpenOffice/


If one of you gents feels extremly generous with their time and would like to help a loser like myself - please PM me or respond here.

1] Downloaded the portable archive - unpacked to folder - same procedure beed doing since 2008
upon the initialization all I can get - despite disabling OA firewall, adding the viddb.exe to 'trusted', is 'updating database structure'
the programme is stuck, doesn't respond at all, that's a bummer

help?

Basically I can find what I want, then I download the poster, then I see a looping thing, i.e. it couldn't finish downloading, instead shows ebay [connection?!] error 404, d/l / error 404 and so on...

It happened on my old rig - only 2GB of Ram, core2 5650
Now I'm working on my new laptop - slightly better config, i.e. 4GB, core2duo 6600

Every time I start PVD I better resist the temptation to use it for at least 5 seconds until it decides I'm allowed to use it, otherwise it freezes, which is sooooo frustrating.

To make editing/saving faster I followed your advice and deleted twitter plugin - works!


Am I the only one suffering from it? Is it cause my DB is currently over 2500 titles?

I cannot do anything else but cling to the lingering hope for this issue eliminated in v 1.0

Some of these would make my life easier and some would be a nice addition to my beloved application ;)

1] Price field [the default one cause I've added my own field but this cannot work with statistics and I'd love to see the stats for all the movies I bought, divided by no of movies, and also divided by the no of discs to see how much I had paid on the average]

2] Menu-> filter -> Owned and where is the function that we can tick off meaning we own the title?

3] BoxOffice data - worldwide gross d/led from boxofficemojo perhaps...?

I mentioned it a few weeks ago..
Whenever I edit a title and then want to save it and proceed with editing another title - it takes too much time to do so and if I make a mouse gesture/ try to disrupt it it freezes and finally saves the title which is more and more irritating as it never happend before. Am i the only one suffering from this ailment? :)

Provide your own lists of the films someone or even many people say are BAD but for some or even no apparent reason you just love watching them on and on and again and it feels so good...
