Yeah I finally figured it out. I when I would wipe my laptop, I was just putting the program folder onto a thumb drive from my laptop...then when reinstalling, just move the PVD folder from the thumb drive back to the laptop. So on a hunch, I DL'ed the latest version...although I am not crazy with its layout...and reinstalled my database. I ran the updates and it seems fine now. Thanks!!

I have been using PVD now for a few years and really enjoy since MBase2 stopped working a while back. Anyways, I had put all my movies into PVD and it's been a while since I have added more...and I have reinstalled Windows on my laptop once or twice and reinstalled my database. Anyways, tonight is the first time in a while that I have added any movies and I can't seem to get it to download any info. I have tried a few different plugins with no luck. I get this error "Error...Socket Error #11001. Host not Found." And I tried to download a poster from a couple different sites and I get "No movies found". I did notice that when I use imdb, it starts to download stuff, then I see a link "http://none" then I get an error. Any ideas?! Thanks in advance.

Not sure if this is the right forum...but...I was wondering if you guys would ever consider doing an audio version of this software...to catalog audio CD's? Something to think about. There are no free software types like this...

Thanks for any consideration.

I just added a few movies to my list and I was exporting them by Category...which I have 0-9 and A-Z. Everything was going fine, but then when I got to S, it exported, but the first listing on the exported files is "Murder She Wrote". I have gone through the S category and Murder She Wrote is not there...and Murder She Wrote IS listed as "M" category. Any ideas what may be causing this?

Thanks

Basically...the search engine I was working with on my site only recognized PHP files. But I was able to find a program that did batch file extension changing. So I exported the normal way to html and then ran the html files through the program and it changed them to php. And I just changed a piece of coding in the Webpages(IndexMovies) where the code says "<a href="movie{%value=mid}.html"...I changed it to "<a href="http://mysiteaddress/movie{%value=mid}.php". So it has worked out...

I have created a website for my movies for my friends to see. I have started using PVD to create the webpages of each movie and categories. However I have a few issues. If I export via Web Pages (IndexMovies), and export all movies and images, and upload them to a directory on my site, the export say all PG movies via Web Pages(IndexMovies) and upload the index pages to the PG directory, when I load the main page of my site and go to the PG link, sometime the pictures are not the correct ones. I have noticed that if I load A category and B category and put the pics in the same images directory...it overwrites some of the images. The reason I want to upload all the pages/images into one directory is for the search engine I have. What can I do to prevent images from being overwritten? I can put the "index" pages in their own directories...but I need the movie pages to go into one directory...and images to go into one directory. Is this possible?

Thanks in advance

Also...when I do screen shots from the DVD, it seems I have to load all the tech info from the DVD ie: video type, audio etc... Now I can delete the video and audio info from it...as I don't want it. However, when I am done with a particular movie, across from the Duration, is Media Type: and then it says x DVD. Is there a way to get rid of that Media Type part? See the pic....how do I get rid of the stuff in red?

I am not sure...LOL....I guess I will have to try another dvd and see if it works or not. But like I said, when I go to the folder where the screenshots should be, it's empty.

Will there ever be an update to PVD where you can dl info from amazon.com instead of just the posters? Sometimes Amazon is the only place I can find all the info for some of the dvd's I have or get. Thanks.

I assume it must be in the database. I checked the folders and there is nothing in the folder. But it doesn't appear to be going to the database. However I think I finally got it, but I don't know what I did differently. I had to try it at least 5 or 6 times.

I have recently finished loading my movies from my old Griffith DB to PVD DB...which was no easy feat...1391 movies! Anyways...it is done, and while this isn't a HUGE issue, I thought it might be neat to get some screen caps. However, as I put in a DVD, put in the location of the DVD and then snap some screen shots...they don't seem to save. I see the thumbs in the left side of the screenshot maker, but when I close it, I can't find the screenshots. Any idea what the issue might be?? Thanks in advance.
