This error happens to me in Easy MOD's version - 1.0.2.7, and of course proxy isn't turned on in PVD while it happens.

Strange. This script doesn't work for me. It gives me error:
"Too many faulty attempts to internet conexion.

Thanks for the mod, Easy. I have quickly tried it. Imported ~5k titles, and noticed nothing bad. You were right -imdb script doesn't work, as well as proxy. Import from tmdb was smooth. Hopefully imdb and other scripts will work after you adapt them.

I totally understand you, deazo. A year ago I tried to move to Kodi (Plex runs in it, as well), because in Kodi you actually don't have to have a file in order to import it to library. Exported my ~7k titles with as much as possible fields and imported to Kodi, but after couple of months I quit - it simply isn't made to keep big library, it became slow as hell.
For Plex, you have to have a file, and in PVD I keep the records of all the movies I have seen (on TV, in cinema, etc.).
So, it depends a lot on what you make a database for.
I agree that is very difficult to use PVD in this situation, and I really admire to Ivek for his devotion, but for me and my needs simply there is no alternative. I will never erase my ~17GB database.

I am totally lost about importing posters from Imdb. Can someone help me by posting the link to an Imdb poster script that will import poster from Imdb to PVD. At the moment I tried dozens of them and none of them seem to work. It worked since last final https/proxomitron transition

Is there any chance to make FilmAffinity script in English language, I wonder? Imdb and Rottentomatoes were bought by Amazon and became totally uncredible sources for movie ratings and reviews. The only alternative I have found that corresponds with my taste is FilmAffinity and it would be great to have English version of the script.

It turned out that I just solved it. The error is produced when using VPN? In that case the script doesn't work. It will work only without VPN.

Very often Rottentomatoes.com [HTTPS] script has issue with downpage.htm. The message is something like "cannot open downpage.htm. The process cannot acces downpage.htm because it is useed by another process."
The page is downloaded from the rottentomatoes.com, but cannot be imported to PVD.
Any idea would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, we are still here because we believe there isn't alternative for PVD. None of other programs, and I tried them so many in last 15-20 years is not even close to PVD.

20 April 2018 Update: Followed step by step your instructions, removed the extra files not mentioned in your instructions and finally Proxomitron works with the PVD plugins!

It would be great if you'd share with the rest of us which files that weren't mentioned in Ivek's instructions you deleted, thus made PVD imports from IMDb. I did everything I could imagine, but still no luck. Thanks in advance.

I will try it for sure. What I have realized meanwhile is something strange, how it happened: I added a movie via Movie Master but only file info, not online data. So I got screenshots, video data, etc. Mysteriously, and without my noticing, in URL field imdb url was imported?! When I tried afterward to get online data, I got the IO Handler error. I tried several times, then came here to write about it. Waiting for some answer I noticed imdb url in the URL field (it was http). I deleted it, tried to import data and voila everything worked? Absolutely weird.
But, what is the strangest thing is that my imdb plugin/scripts work without Proxo? I have a batch file:
