Support / Double Entries in Films
« on: March 03, 2013, 06:56:20 pm »
Lately, my PVD 0.9.9.21 with the IMDB plugin 0.9.8.12 which I am still using (with he <span> bug) started to act strangely:

I press the button for "new movie master", enter the film name and date and press the "Go" button. After searching it comes up with a window and give me a selection of titles. Usually it is the first one. I tick the box next to the film and press the OK button. Then usually, I get "No movie found" message and press the OK button on it. The program continues searching and a new window opens to chose the cover of the DVD. The little square box next to the Names of the Film, cannot be ticked anymore (?) so I click on the name and press the OK button. "No movie found" is usual (using Amazon.com).

Then suddenly I get in the PVD, two films (see my first enclosed picture) with the same name and the same DVD or Bluray cover !!!
The only difference between the two entries is the URL. One has http://www.imdb.com/title, etc. and the second entry has http://imdb.com/title etc.

Anybody knows what has changed or is happening ???
Many Thanks,
Gear

<span class="itemprop" itemprop="keywords">Cancer</span>   <span class="itemprop" itemprop="keywords">Village</span>

Support / Re: New plugin imdb.dll v.0.9.8.9 ??
« on: February 01, 2013, 08:35:09 pm »
Hello Nostra.

I am afraid it does not download complete information (as per v.0.9.8.8.) for films already in the database (by clicking the button on the menu).

Should I delete those and re-enter them in the database? Just asking before messing up things.
Thanks,

Update: Found the cause. In the field of URL, some characters where added with the old version, which in turn led to HTTP Error again. Once deleted the characters, it works perfectly.

I just noticed and updated to the new plugin, but don't see any difference in getting the "full" movie information.

Could anybody explain to me in plain English, what the difference from the v.0.9.8.8. is ?

Many thanks,

Even with the new script by Ivek, it doesn't work for me. I get "HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found" error.

Patience everytime Imdb changes something....

Installed the new corrected version (v.0.9.8.6 dated 12/12/2012) of IMDB.dll plugin overwriting the older one.

Installed the new corrected version (v.0.3.0.12 dated 12/12/2012) of IMDB_people.dll plugin overwriting the older one.

Closed down and re-opened PVD 0.9.9.21 (on Windows XP Pro SP3).

Searched for "Notorious (1946)" using the "New Movie Master" icon and got the included picture: without any dates, as it used to show before...

By chance I chose the second one and it was the correct one!

Any ideas???

@melmoth

Too complicated for me to use. I am missing only one item, therefore it is faster to do it manually per episode.

Thanks anyway for the help.

@matsja:

I am afraid to use more modified files, as I have lost track of them and PVD will stop working again.

I will wait for a final solution from Nostra and then add this specific film, as the software works for the rest.

Many thanks,

Hi Ivek23 again.

My first search was "Notorious" and loaded the film of 2009 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0472198/) which is not the correct one.

My second search was "Notorious (1946)" without the word "film" and PDV stuck, later the screen went white and forced it to close.

My third search today, "Notoriou" had the same result: PVD stuck again...

I don't understand why this happens with this old film.

Rgds,

Just to add my small experience of the same: Check the "Poster" again, but switch your default, from Amazon.uk to Amazon.com and make shure that all the items are checked.

This will solve -temporarily- your "No movies found" message.

I am using PVD 0.9.9.21 with Win XP Pro SP3, modified lately with the new script of Ivek23, as the IMDB 0.9.8.5 stoped importing (mentioned elsewhere in the forum).

The script works fine for newer movies but faced a problem with an old one. Tried to get in the PVD "Notorious" (1946 film), and I am getting stuck at searching (see attachement 1). The PVD freezes and have to close it down.

After re-opening it, Notorious is there without any info. I fill in the date and try to get the info through the button of the menu. PVD freezes again, with the info (in attachement 2). Force to close it down again and re-open it.

All I get is attachement 3.

Any body can help?

PS. If I enter only "Notorious" it loads the latest film directly, without showing any choice...

Many thanks in advance.

Thank you Nostra for your answer. I am using the latest 0.9.9.21 version.

What you mentioned, works for the "Subtitles" field, but not for the "Audio Stream 1" which field does not exist in the Tab "File Information" multi-edit solution.

Any further solution for that part?

Many thanks again,

I am trying to find some trick about entering the same repeating details in a TV series episodes, such as DVDrip, Language, Subtitles. Instead of entering those details for every episode separately, is there a way to have those details prefixed (as they are all the same for all episodes) after entering the first one?

Any advice would be welcomed.

Hello Ivek23 again.

After some trials, I finally discovered that I had to set as default the new batch file (see first attachement). After selecting it, everything works.

Many thanks for your trouble !!!

Hi Ivek23 again.

Changed the Poster default from .uk to .com and now it imports the DVD/Bluray cover. The problem now is that the film info is not imported! (see the attached pic).

I also enclose the Web search files -if I am doing something wrong- and the plugins defaults.

I am afraid I am not very good in modifications...

Hi Ivek23 again.

I have removed completely the program and old *.ini file.
Re-Installed. Updated the program. Copied your batch file to the program's directory, as per the instructions above.

Everything seems to work properly with the new movies, except: 1) No IMDB rating downloading and 2) No DVD cover image import from Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.com. Have to download them manually.

Am I doing something wrong?

Regards

Hi Ivek23 again.

Have tried all solutions you mentioned above to me. Deleted the old *.ini file. No change with the rebuilt one, "No movies found" when adding a new movie and no DVD cover from Amazon.uk
Re-installed latest v.09 over the old one. Opened my existing database, same results, although the Amazon DVD covers show-up, but after selecting, does not download: "No movies found" again.

I have not un-installed the program, as you suggested, till we finally find what is happening with the search, the IMDB ratings and the posters importing.

Patiently waiting...
