Ivek Hi,

The Imdb Movie Photo Script is still working, but the Imdb Movie Photo (Poster) script, which downloaded the full big picture stopped working today with the attached error message.

Any possible help?

Hi Svenne. Thanks for the suggestions. I would like to try what you propose but, I am afraid to have two PVDs on my laptop. I think it will be a mess. Furthermore, without the older plugins of Ivek, almost nothing is properly imported. If ever the Imdb plugin is repaired by Nostra, I might try your suggestions.

In the meantime I will only do an Optimization.

Hi fenlander.

I have solved the basic problems, but I still have unsolved questions. Please read the Topic "Peculiar numbering in PVD v.1", further down. It will help you.

Thank you svenne for giving me a hint and apologies for the late reply, as I was away from my laptop.

The installation of the software went smoothly. I copied my old (v.0.9.x) database scripts and plugins (for manual import of posters) as the software's ones do not work automatically and imported my old database. Everything looks to work properly, except the adding of a new Movie.

Tried your hint about admin rights but, the same happens again. Furthermore, every time I click on the program's shortcut, it asks "if I want to allow it to make modifications on my HDD".

I noticed though that if I wait without doing anything at the error message a sort of index line runs along the first button "Continue with the program", two times and then the error message goes away!!! Same happens if I click twice on the same "Continue ..." button.

As I don't understand anything from the bug report myself, I enclose it for reference if you can spot anything helpful...

I have also mailed it to the program's support but no reply was received...

The Database by default created a PVD folder in "my Documents" folder where the data is. Not in the program's directory.

It seems to me that when the "Autonumbering" is checked in the Preferences, is causing all this number fuss. When I turned it off, everything is back to normal !!!!

Another bug of v.1.x ??

Anybody can help?

I have sent the bug report to the email mentioned in it, concerning another film a couple of days ago...

Thank you Ivek for clarifying to me the PTM files.

A new problem was discovered today: When I add the path of a video file in PVD v.1.0, the external subtitles (in *srt file) with the same name with the video, I get a line of multiple "English" in the subtitle line!!! (See the attached picture).

In PVD v.0.9 external subtitles where not recognized (except if they where included in the video file) and had to add them manually.

Anybody knows why?? or how to correct it?

I have copied to my Windows 8.1 the two files from my Windows XP v.0.9.  (The *.PVD file and the *.bak file) and then "Restored" the back file to my version 1.0 PVD. Everything worked fine and have my PVD database complete on my Laptop too!!

That means that the older version is compatible with the new one. But have not solved the peculiar numbering which happened in my trial PVD database.

One negativething I discovered in v.1.0 is that the list on the left with the titles, cannot be expanded to the right further to a fixed point, thus the whole title can not be seen when it is a long one. Is this a bug of V.1.0. ??? or I am doing something wrong??

Anybody knows what are the *.PTM files in v.0.9. ???

The Technical data also are working now Ivek. I corrected it by copying a forgotten *.psf file!

Hi Ivek,

Thanks for posting so quickly. I have re-installed v.1.x, did all the preferences and various settings exactly the same as in my v.0.9.x. I also copied the .psf (Technical specs) file on the new PVD.

I am backing-up at the moment my old PVD and will transfer it for opening in the new version...

We will see what happens! As it will take some time, I will post tomorrow the results.

Thank you again.

Feature Suggestions / Backup status Line
« on: April 11, 2015, 04:34:15 pm »
Personally, I don't know when a backup has finished. There is no indication at all. Sometimes (in both versions 0.9.x and 1.x) the backup directory window, remains greyed and I wait for it to go away. Some times there is no indication at all....

How easy it would be to add a backup status (percentage or simple colored line)??

Hi mgpw4me. Thanks for replying, but the mystery remains:

I deleted the "Reign" series and then re-inserted it. Now it lists as 1.7, 2,7, etc.
I added a new series "American Crime". This one also is numbered as 1.7, 2.7, etc.!!!! (See second attachment "New numbering"). Don't understand why, when ALL series in PVD v.0.9 are 1.0, 2.0, etc. (See third attachment "Reign in Old PVD").

The layout is correct because I copied exactly the same from my v.0.9 (see first attachment). The space is there too. But the "zero" does not show on the right (display pane), while all other numbers show. That is why the "5" is in the display pane. I can manually change it to zero, but its a lot of manual work...

Regarding the REGEX you mention, you are talking Greek to me as I have no clue about it.

Today I found out that the Technical Specs are also not imported !! Although I have the same "Custom" fields and script as in my v.0.9 (in which it works perfectly). See fourth attachment "Technical Specs". IVEK where are you??

I am still trying to learn v.1 on my Windows 8.1

I don't understand why in the attached picture, the number of the episodes is 1.5, 2.5, and so on (Left in the list), on all Seasons, instead of 1.0, 2.0, etc. Number 5 is shown also on all the episodes Tab (Right side) above the picture.

Also, if I edit an episode, the number changes!

If anybody can help, I would be obliged...

Bug Report PVD v.1 on Windows 8.1:

On a Trial PVD database (v.1.0.2.7) tried to download Game of Thrones. Following are the bugs: 1) Imports only a "small" picture of the episode (see attachment). When I refresh the Series I get a second picture on ALL Episodes! No way to get the full picture.
2) If I edit an episode, the number changes from "Episode 2.0 to-->Episode 2.4 I have to manually re-edit it and put the zero manually. See attachment (Don't understand that)!!!
3) The Year is not inserted till you re-download the episode data information....
4) The default marked "Seen" (in preferences), does not work. Comes-up blank. I have to manually check it.
5) Although I have set-up the Custom fields as per my (fully working) PVD v.0.9, only the IMDB Votes are downloaded and shown.
6) Finally while updating (My first update) before entering anything, but having removed all languages except English, I got a message which is not understood (See attachment).
6) No photos of Actors are imported...

I have the feeling that Both PVD and me are abandoned the last 4-5 months without updates and/or corrections.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

I have changed my old Laptop to a new one with Windows 8.1. I want to install PVD v.1.0.2.7 on it and transfer my PVD 9.9.21 "Movie File" or backup from my PC, to use it with the new version.

Questions:

1) Can I do that? Is the v.9.9.21 data file compatible with PVD v.1.0.2.7 ?
2) Can I use the old version plugins copying them to the new version? Are they compatible?
3) If the data are not compatible, how can I transfer it? Is there any solution?

Many thanks for the help.
George

PS. Where is the "Star Sign" which enters automatic numbering (in PVD v.9) on the new v.1.0.2.7 ?

Hello Ivek again. I have re-installed PVD 0.9
Copied my old *.bak file from the Laptop to the new PC and did a restore. But the result was damaged and a Bug report window showed-up. Closed PVD & re-opened. And everything was OK, with the old ID numbers. The problem is that my current PVD had 2106 films while the backup only 2055!! (About a month old as I saw from the dates).

So, I copied my recent *.pvd file from the laptop HDD to my PC and opened it. It worked properly, except the original ID numbers. It opened with "Title" sorting and new numbers from 1 to 2106, but Alphabetically.

The problem was in the Preferences->Title Formatting->Show movie in the list-> %N-(%Y) %T

One problem that I discovered is that if I am re-downloading the information for a film the "last updated" date, does not change...I am still searching it why.

By the way, is v.1 compatible with Windows 8 ?

Thanks for your help. I Will update if I solve the date problem.

Thank you Ivek for your help. I have found the pvdconf file, as you told me.

I have installed the PVD (0.9) on my new PC and copied from my old PC HDD my Movies.pvd file, as well as the backup file in the new PC (in My Documents/PVD/).

Opened my Movies.pvd File normally after opening the PVD Software. I Re-indexed it as per your above instruction, but nothing happens!! Closed, re-open program, nothing. No numbers. Why??

The backup file is about a month older and I don't know which films and TV episodes where added afterwards. That is the reason I did not "restore" my backup File.

What to do next for re-indexing?

I am using latest v.0.9 with Win XP and was obliged to move it due to Laptop break-down.

The new setup works as previously, with 2 exceptions:

1) The ID number is not shown before the title (on the Left Pane), as it used to show. Am I doing something wrong or missing something?

2) Can't find any pvdconf.ini file (!!??) on my drive(s).

If anybody could help, I would appreciate....
