Support / How to export a custom field?
« on: May 01, 2018, 04:24:22 pm »
Noticed that I posted my question in a topic that was solved, so it would not get much attention, silly me.

I've tried this but I don't get the field I want.

%OPTIONS%
encoding="UTF8BOM"
replace=";<->,"
replace=""<->"
replace="#13#10<-> "
replace="#13<-> "
replace="#10<-> "
filter="CSV Files|*.csv"
%OPTIONS%
%HEAD%Title;Original Title;Criterion;
%HEAD%{%value=title};{%value=origtitle};{%value=Criterion custom=true};

So Criterion is not shown in the export .csv.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong pls.

UtNut, please write me the title of the movie and the Imdb url link so I can verify the problem.

Well, it started with this one:
Dallas (1978-1991)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077000/

I've tried this but I don't get the field I want.

It's a very famous problem.

Try removing Imdb Movie Info Script 0.1.1.2 first so that you can re-add it back. Then restart PVD and try to remove this record. If this does not work, restart PVD and try to restore the database. This means that if you already have it or you have made a backup copy, then you will not lose much or too much data (from my own experience it is good after every successful data entry to make a backup copy of the database, then I can recover if necessary).

I removed the script, but it doesn't solve the problem.

Quote
Another option that is even more likely is to temporarily remove the current skin and then later return it back. Then restart PVD and try to remove this record. If this does not work, restart PVD and try to restore the database. Current skin then later return it back.

I've tried that with latest version 1.0.2.7 and the standard skin, I use 0.9.9.21 with a different skin, alas to no avail.

Quote
This happens when Imdb Movie Info Script encounters a kind of problem and can not download information. The error is in the Imdb Movie Info Script code. Also, try the Imdb Top 250, IMDb Rating and Studio (2) script, which you will find on the link below.

http://www.videodb.info/forum_en/index.php/topic,4123.msg20360.html#msg20360

Yes, I tried that and it works fine, but still I can not remove or delete the record.

Quote
I hope Imdb Top 250, IMDb Rating and Studio (2) script will work and there will be no more problems with PVD freeze. But if there are still problems, please write me the title of the movie and the Imdb url link so I can verify the problem.

It's not so much a specific record, when I import any movie with that script, PVD freezes. Even on another PC I've installed PVD and still without the script being loaded, it freezes the moment I click on that record.

BTW, I much appreciate your reply Ivek, and I really hope there is a solution to this problem.

« on: April 29, 2018, 04:37:17 pm »
Hoping there's a good-hearted soul in this forum who can steer me in the right direction.

I have never encountered this problem before but suddenly when I import using Imdb Movie Info Script 0.1.1.2, PVD freezes and is not responding for hours. Only thing I can do is to force PVD to exit and when I start it up again the record is there but there's nothing I can do with, not delete it or edit it, when I click on it PVD starts to be irresponsive again.

What have I done sofar.

Well obviously I looked around but could not find a satisfying answer. I use version 0.9.9.21 and tried latest version 1.0.2.7, opened PVD on another computer, tried firebird tools, exported it to excel and csv to get rid of the culprit, all to no avail. All other scripts work fine.

So any advice is more than welcome, tia.

Yes this Proxomitron looks to be the solution to many of our HTTPS problems, great find.

Is there anything you can do about Original Language and Country?

Don't feel obliged if time and trouble are too much an effort, just asking.

Works like sunshine, thanks a lot Ivek.

Couple of observations if I may.
Cast is not entirely complete, but cast-episode script works fine to complete it, same as with tech specs script.

@UtNut

Will you kindly explain how and where you paste the IMDB url?

How, just goto the relevant IMDB movie page and copy the url as you can see in the picture, make sure that is all you copy.

Where is depending on what skin you use, I use PVD Download Manager which pretty straight forward. It has a specific field called URL:

Hi Ivek,

Very glad you are around again and hope your eyesight has improved to normal/acceptable standards.

For full cast credits I use the latest script I could find e.g. Imdb Movie(cast-episode)2.psf and it worked fine until (I'd guess) IMDB started with HTTPS url's. The other thing I use on IMDB is tech specs, which still works.

All the best.

I do get this problem too, running 0.9.9.21.
I can tackle this by pasting the IMDB url into PVD.
Beware not the https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4378376
But www.imdb.com/title/tt4378376
It works for me, not sure if it will in your version.
Full cast in film and/or episodes will still not work,
others I want will.
I guess we have to be patient untill Ivek can help
us out.
Hope this helps

I'm always amazed how you're able to work around these things Ivek, even HTTPS doesn't stop you!
A clever constructed combination with Proxomitron allows this noob to gather information wanted from, in my case, Allmovie.com. I'm thanking you wholeheartedly for the many contributions you made and for keeping PVD alive, making it still the best movie database there is. I'm slowly approaching 5,000 records and I haven't found anything like it. I will also wish you all the best fixing your eyesight problems, if it would be helpful to you, my father in law of 86 years old just had his cataracts operations and now is able to see clearly and sharply without his glasses he was wearing for more than 66 years.
Many thanks again.

Could be me but lately I noticed that the country doesn't show up anymore after importing the flick in PVD.
Do I need to change something? Please advise.

Thanks - UtNut

Sorry for my late response, I've been away for awhile.

I've tried everything I could possibly think of, left, right and centre, but to no avail. It works on one machine with a fresh new database, not on the other with a db of nearly 5,000 entries, which I don't want to juggle with as much. So my thought is that in the large db there must be something that refrains the technical Specs from being imported. As I said before, I'm a sucker for these specs but for those flicks that are really are important to me, it's not such a hassle to copy and paste them into the db.

So, thanks for your time and patience Ivek, maybe some time in the future we will be able to solve this, meanwhile it's just control +C and control +P.

Strange, this is what happened. Last December I migrated PVD to a new computer, the Tech Specs stopped working on the old one and never worked on the new one, so that didn't change.
I've cleared and deleted everything related to PVD of the old computer, unzipped the PVD 09 files back to a folder on that computer again and did the Apache test following your instructions (this test is without the portable.bat) and much to my surprise the Tech Specs got imported instantly.
Is it therefore necessary to re-install PVD altogether and build it up from the start again?

Sorry Ivek, I know it's me but I had no results in tests I did.

In my own words this is what I did;

I added a custom field in PVD called "Technical Specs:_test" (no quotation marks of course) type Memo.

I put the psf script file (IMDB Movie (tech specs) _test script) in the scripts folder of the PVD program folder.

Still no give, what am I doing wrong please.

Many thanks for your time and trouble
