I'm using the IMDB Movie (tech specs) script on version 09.9.21.

Since I'm a bit of a n00b in these matters it's perhaps a better idea to post some screenshots attached
than to have to go through my waffling.

Thanks.

Thanks, well then it must be me.
Any chance you could elaborate on what I'm doing wrong?
I've set a field in Custom called Technical Specs, I've configured the script accordingly in the scroll list eg "Save description in Technical Specs" but it doesn't do that.

Hi Ivek,

First and foremost, a big thanks for all the wonderful work you have done so far and for the help of others. It must have been a time consuming effort for you, but I can read between your lines, you do enjoy the fun of it.

Just a small question if I may, I'm a sucker for tech specs and for some time the IMDB script, I'm using version 0.1.1.2 in the PVD Download Manager skin, doesn't seem to work anymore. I have been looking around a bit but can't find the reason why not. So, is it me or is it simply not possible to import this information anymore. Not a big thing, not that difficult to copy and paste.
Again, just wondering.

Thanks and kind regards,

UtNut

Thank you for this info. I find the plot summary very useful, so kudos to Ivek.

If ignorant, I hide behind the fact that there are no stupid questions etcetera.

I've looked a bit around here and must admit that I'm a bit lost in this world of scripts, batches and plugins.
I am a filmbuff but love tv series too and I still am convinced that PVD is the best DB for any large or small collection of this (mine is at 4645 atm and still growing). Kudos to its maker(s) and especially to Ivek for keeping it alive. I've recently stumbled on this problem: Var Ue_t0=window.ue_t0||+new Date(); as the title of any new entry, movie or episode. For a noob like me this is seriously frightening. I did try every new script recently posted on this forum but to no avail. It seems not such  big problem for me because it looks like it is importing all other info correctly, so if I just uncheck title in the script 0.9.8.26 and put that in manually my problem should be solved?
But if some good soul would explain to me if or what I'm doing wrong it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Splendid iniative by afrocuban but an even better reply from Ivek.

If you love films, like we all do else we wouldn't be here, your vision is the most precious of all senses. It's therefore that I would like to express my gratitude to Ivek and enormously hope that you will keep the detoriation of your eyesight at bay. Science doesn't stop, I've heard from people I know who had operations on their eyes which helped them considerably. Of course I don't know about your exact situation but I do know this, any hope has a right to exist.

p.s. World Eye Sight was on the 8th of October, I'm sure they will still accept all our contributions.

Yes, I'd say the the transmission is faster at import from AllMovie. Other than that the contents remain the same, which is great.

Thanks again.

Brilliant, thanks enormously. I wouldn't use the related function, but I'd guess this is a great thing for others using Allmovie data. Kudos to you.

Was thinking the last bit is a bit cryptic, so here's an image to support it.
Fyi, the link works and goes directly to what is says.

Wow Ivek, its magic, you've done it again.

Script works perfect on my side using PVD v0.9.9.21  and PVD Download Manager as skin. I got all the info I want e.g. rating, summary incl name (which I like),  details with url, country, duration, think the tags are going into category. Credits are good, so is release info. There's something funny happening in the Video Data Tab in File Information it imports AllMovie DVD Releases as a link in Features.
I actually like that, was that on purpose?

Does that mean you have problems with your back? If so, I'm sorry to hear that.

My late reply shows that I'm full of patience and it's great to learn you will get the script working again in the near future, no rush on my account please.

In fact, I just finished to enter all my movies in PVD when AllMovie decided to change their website....Lucky me.

Thanks for all the support.

Looks like Allmovie had a major change of their website, hence the script doesn't work any more :-(.
Any chance you could make the script work again?
Mtia.

Support / PVD DB Completely Corrupted
« on: September 10, 2014, 05:55:51 pm »
This is not actually asking for support but a sign of appreciation of how well this database works even in dire straits. 1st I couldn't make a backup then slowly my PVD started to get corrupted more and more until I couldn't load the data anymore, more than 18 months of scrutinized work down the drain (more than 3,000 entries)...So I started to research the if and how things. There are few posts in here that point to a set of Firebird tools but as a complete noob I soon realized there was quite a bit of work for me to do. This page was very helpful: http://www.ibphoenix.com/resources/documents/search/doc_5
After meticulously following its instruction my PVD is now complete and healthy again and I just came back from being over the moon to share this. So all in all, if your PVD gets hopelessly corrupted, men forbid, have no fear, if I can fix it, you most certainly can as well.

Support / Backup Stopped Working
« on: August 31, 2014, 08:13:35 am »
Using 0.9.9.21 recently migrated to a Win7 machine.
I'm a great fan of backups but whilst everything else seems to work fine I'm getting an error code 13 trying to make a backup. See attached jpg. I have tried to look up what could cause it but couldn't find the answer.
There's an old post by nostra http://www.videodb.info/forum_en/index.php/topic,1914.msg9409.html#msg9409 giving a link to a topic for it but the link is not accessible to me.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thx a bunch for ur info, but it's weird....

Sorry, reading this again I have to correct myself. By no means I meant that your info was weird, just the things that happened after I implemented them....
