I just wanted to say, thanks to Ivek for all his work keeping PVD working. I still think PVD is the best database for movies, even if the core program hasn't been updated in awhile. Keeping up with all those website changes over these past couple of years can't have been easy (I know, I've been trying to maintain a single site script myself and still can't quite get everything right).

I do hope nostra will come back to this project eventually (or at least release the source code), but in the interm, kudos to Ivek for refusing to give up on it.

Thanks again!

aimhere

aimhere, thank you for the many compliments for my work. I am very pleased and as far as in my power and my health problems will allow it, I tried to PVD continue to operate successfully.

Also, I still have hope that someday Nostra again returned to us.

There is no problem because of this, so I'm here to help you solve problems, as far as I can and also depends on knowledge.

Otherwise, really a pity, because your problem has not been successfully resolved and you decide to use a simple copy/paste option as I suggested
It is your decision what you will be better that you do (re-entries movie titles in the database, or copy/paste technical data).

Announcement:

I see now when I upgrade my film database with RottenTomatoes scripts for a certain film titles in which some of the new year was still possible to normal transmission of data, now it is no longer possible. In the search results RottenTomatoes movie scripts certain addresses normally find, then it only transfers the URL as a link to a website where you can find the same notice

as to the link below.

https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/1081623_merlin

This error on the website now is no longer present. During this time CloudFront for some time did not work. When CloudFront again become operational this fault has been rectified. It happens many times that there is a downtime for the RottenTomatoes web sites, which means that the CloudFront in that time has serious problems with its operation and is unable to connect to the source.

https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/1081623_merlin

It is interesting that this is happening only at the following URL addresses, which contain a seven-digit number - and the title of the movie. Such is the following URL address.

https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/1076678_montana

https://www.rottentomatoes.com/search/?search=Montana

Such cases in updating the database has been up to now about 20 to 30 movie titles from some 450 update movie data (the entire database is approximately 920 movie titles.

Still, there is this one error associated with the URL. This is due to the source code of the search results, which is part of the URL such (m/1076678-Montana). RottenTomatoes script withstand such a URL, but not partially modified URL, which is in the movie web site [in the movie web site is such a partial URL(m/1076678_montana)].

This error in the RottenTomatoes script will be corrected in the next update to scripts. It will take a little patience, because now we do not know when I managed to do it. Then it is necessary to do some tests if the error is properly corrected and the script works properly.

Is it therefore necessary to re-install PVD altogether and build it up from the start again?

It is your decision what you will be better that you do (re-entries movie titles in the database, or copy/paste technical data).

To test the other IMDB scripts with Apache test, as well as in the original database with Apache (Apache test title tag so that it will be easier separated from Apache other titles in the database). It will be seen how they operate these IMDb scripts.

The easier I'll then answered this question:
Is it therefore necessary to re-install PVD altogether and build it up from the start again?

Now even test it in debug mode, you get a log file. Start debug.bat file in the program folder and PVD will open in debug mode. Again, add the Apache title in database. Now again run the IMDB Movie (specifications) _test1 script. Close PVD and in the program folder find a log.txt file. Attach a copy here (the content of the text can be copied and also add here for any help other users in solving the problem)problem).

It's strange all this. For me, all tests work.

Another testing do:

First, download this file - Download Personal Video Database 0.9.9.21.  Then unzip the file and copy it to the a new folder on the other drive.

Then, download this one file - AutoIt script (alternative to portable.bat). Then unzip the file and copy it to the program folder, which is located in a new folder on another drive.

Custom field name remains the same as it is here:
Quote
Then add the database to add this ' Technical Specs: _test ' custom field. In the Scripts folder of the program is attached below IMDB Movie (tech specs) _test1 script.
Quote
Important:

The names of the 'Technical Specs: _test' for a custom field must be such as to scripts that do the test if the IMDB Movie (tech specs) _test1 script will now function properly.

Now run viddb_p.exe file that the program will be opened in portable form. Then, type in the database this movie title - Apache. Then run just IMDB Movie (tech specs) _test1 script to see if it will now work properly.

Please let me know the results of the tests, then will follow further instructions.

First, you create a backup of their PVD database.

Then add the database to add this ' Technical Specs: _test ' custom field. In the Scripts folder of the program is attached below IMDB Movie (tech specs) _test script.

Important:

The names of the 'Technical Specs: _test' for a custom field must be such as to scripts that do the test if the IMDB Movie (tech specs) _test script will now function properly.

 A little late on this but I would also like to drop a few words for you Ivek.
 You kept that forum alive and managed to create scripts that I use regularly and totally saved my collection!
 You have been very generous and I would also have liked to repay you. Since you refuse any form of payment (and with good reasons) I would like to wish you all the best in health, as it seems you have been in trouble recently.
 Thank you very very much.
D.

Thanks.

Welcome. I am pleased that there is now a small problem successfully solved. Even yourself, you are now satisfied with the look of skin.

Thanks, encouragingly, script tested in the near future, when I will find time for it.

You may try this
Code: [Select]
  <row>
       <column halign="right" valign="top">
<spacer width="12" />
        <label width="128">
          <caption>Darsteller/innen:</caption>
        </label>
        <spacer width="7" />
    <custom field="Darsteller/innen:" collapsedlines="15"></custom>
        <spacer width="11" />
   </column>
   </row>

If necessary, you can change the settings. For you I did this combination, which will require changes to the figures.

This is my example of how I  ' <caption> TheMoviedb Aka: </ caption> '  became the first in a series of what you would like to have.
Code: [Select]
              <row>
                <column halign="right" valign="top">
                  <spacer width="12" />
                  <label width="107">
                    <caption>TheMoviedb Aka:</caption>
                  </label>
                  <custom field="TheMoviedb Aka">
                    <color>$D7FDDD</color>
                    <font>
                      <name>Franklin Gothic Medium</name>
                      <!-- <color>$D7FDDD</color>
  <color>$8000EEA</color>
  <name>Franklin Gothic Medium</name>
  <size>11</size>-->
                      <bold />
                    </font>
                  </custom>
                  <spacer width="11" />
                </column>
              </row>

This solution will also be useful for other users, which would like to have the same solution in the skin for memo fields.

Thanks, well then it must be me.
Any chance you could elaborate on what I'm doing wrong?
I've set a field in Custom called Technical Specs, I've configured the script accordingly in the scroll list eg "Save description in Technical Specs" but it doesn't do that.

If you are using IMDB Movie (tech specs) script, it is not possible,

The easier you'll more detailed answer and explain the matter, if you tell me what you use - the script or plugin.

For a little longer my absence has meant a problem with the new imposition of the Windows 7 operating system on my computer as well as the smallest and lightest health problems (including vision in his left eye, which I gradually deteriorating due to the growth of cataracts).

I will help you still will, but as far as my health will allow for this. I ask for your patience if it will help or answer lasted a little longer time. I need also more time for testing.

If it is easy for you to find out how I would have to change the xml file, I would be grateful for your advice.

This should solve the problem.

Code: [Select]
  <row>
       <column>
        <label width="128" halign="right" valign="top">
          <caption>Darsteller/innen:</caption>

        <spacer width="11" />
   </column>
   </row>

Number in ' collapsedlines ' can be changed if necessary as far as you will need that this field will always remain fully open.
