New Client-Server Feature: unavailable database

(1/4) > >>

Someone:
So I got that new 0.9.9.8 and thought I'd setup a firebird server on my Ubuntu machine just for testing.
Then after a daring forum search I gladly found the syntax of the string that is to be entered in the "Connect to server..." dialog.
But although I created a database "pvdb.fdb" fine with isql on the server, PVDB just says "unavailable database" when I enter "192.168.1.2:pvdb.fdb" or any other path after ":" - with the same user/pass I used to create the database. (yes thats the correct IP -.-)
Does that DB file have to be accessible in the Windows shares or do I have to change Firebird settings to make the server accessible or what?

nostra:
It should be "192.168.1.2:%fullpath%/pvdb.pvd"

Someone:

--- End quote ---
as said, that ("any path") doesnt work

nostra:
Check the ports. (3050 by default, should be open)

Someone:
Linux says fb-server is listening on 3050 and I can open a raw telnet connection to that port.
