IMDb Plugin problems
« on: March 25, 2011, 02:44:09 pm »
When using the IMDB movie plugin, the cast and role list is correct untill an no role is mentioned. The actors without a role get the same as the previous on.

PVD suddenly doesn't import awards anymore
« Reply #1 on: March 25, 2011, 05:22:36 pm »
Hello

after working a few weeks with PVD i noticed that PVD does not import awards anymore.
Connections and all other data are imported.
I'm sure it imported awards in the past and they're correctly in the database.
Of course i checked the "import awards" check box (imdb).
What could cause this phenomenon?
Log file attached.

Thanks

---------

I found out that checking "Download Awards" AND unchecking "Download Movie Connections" did the trick.
It seems that you cannot download awards and connections at the same time.

When i deleted all movie connections, sometimes awards are imported, but not always.
Weird

Thx for the info, I will check the plugin as soon as I have the opportunity (I am away from my home development PC for a month or so, so it could take some time)

IMDb Plugin problems
Hi there, I'm awfully sorry to come up with a request again, but like a week or two ago my IMDB plugin ceased to find movies. It comes up with the most peculiar titles, none of them are even close to the desired one... I didn't change my or PVD's behaviour, so - to my mind - the IMDB website must have changed. Furthermore - and despite the fact that I told it to load full plot summaries - it just loads stubs with the "see full plot summary" suffix.

Did - by any chance - someone experience the same malady?

Thanks a lot in advance,

Melmoth

 I have just used it.
I did not have trouble finding movies.
However you are right, the plugin does not download the full plot summary anymore.
Hopefully someone can update the script soon.

No "Full Plot Summary" from IMDb
PVD doesn't download the full summary from IMDb.

"download full plot summary" has been activated in IMDb plugin settings.

Still often the result is:

"...See full summary »"

Hm, well, sometimes it works, sometimes after the 2nd or 3rd attempt, sometimes it helps deleting the title and retyping it (I've checked typos)... and I can reproduce the error (try adding "Gandhi")

But if there is a general problem, as ivek23 said, I'll have to wait anyway...

IMDB.com awards plugin not working
« Reply #11 on: May 11, 2011, 01:55:28 pm »
It looks like the IMBD.com plugin is not working as it should be for a couple of weeks from here. I haven't changed my settings and everytime that I want to add some new movie it comes with a different name. But ANY TIME is getting the awards.

Thanks for your time

The problem with the strange results in searches seems to be related to AKAs. So if you want a 'fix' until Nostra can have a look at it, turn of 'Use Aka search' in the IMDb plug-in preferences. Try for instance searching for Gilda (1946) with the two settings to see the difference.

Hi,

I have a problem with the IMDB plug-in (got the latest version).
If I search for the Dutch movie "Loft" I don't get the correct result from IMDB.

IMDB search: http://www.imdb.com/find?s=all&q=Loft (it's the version from 2010)
PVD returns the 2008 version and some others but not the 2010 version.

I tried this and I got the same result. I do not know why this not working proper but you can try this to fix the problem:

Last but not least you could enter the correct address manuelly. Go to the imdb page and search for the series you want to import. Then, copy the adress (e.g. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0796264/) and paste it into the URL Field in PVD. Start the import from imdb. Now, PVD should find the correct series and import the episode data.

Thanks, that did the job :)
