Boxofficemojo.com Plugin
« on: November 05, 2015, 07:29:10 pm »
"Imdb.com" doesn't display "Box office" correctly.

It could be an interesting plugin.

Maybe, just tell what exactly would you like to have in the script, we'll see what we can do.

Ok, but it will take a few days, I've been busy editing their own movie database, by updating and while also checking data to Boxofficemojo.com, which are here mentioned.

I must also mention what I have so far noticed that for quite a few of my movies  (about 900 movies), which I have in Movie Database, is that they do not in their database or some data which you want to have, by (Production Budget, or Worldwide, or both) it could not be found.

http://pro.boxoffice.com/

At the above address as well as data, which you mentioned, and how I managed to quickly check may be even more real than at Boxofficemojo.com.

Check there and then know here, how could there with these data, which would want to have.

Here is BoxOfficeMojo.com script that downloads all the data which you want to have:
Url, Production Budget, and Worldwide.

The script finds the titles of movies, which are in their database, but beware the titles of movies may not be following signs:
! ? ' and ,  sign

If the script still can not find the desired film, however, in Tools > Settings > Web search please enter the following text,

Box Office Mojo      http://www.boxofficemojo.com/search/?page=releases&p=.htm&q=%s%u

if this text, there may still not have written. Through this you will also find the movie you are looking for.

The script is attached.

When I added FilmAffinity_[ES]_2014 script, I got the same error as you have described. Why this error occurs, I do not know, but when I am adding New_Releases_FilmAffinity script, the error was gone.  I suggest that New_Releases_FilmAffinity script add to a folder where you already have FilmAffinity_[ES]_2014 script.

I hope that this will solve the problem.

How works the custom fields?

Custom fields act the same as a normal field. Under normal skins where this piece of code
Code: [Select]
<customsection><color>$EAEAEA</color></customsection>  or
Code: [Select]
  <tab space="0">
   <caption>&amp;Custom fields</caption>
   <row>
    <col space="0">
     <customsection><color>$EAEAEA</color></customsection>
</col>
   </row>
  </tab>
the custom fields visible as soon as you enter the Settings  --> Custom items. If you are in the skin have added any custom field, it is necessary to any new custom field specially added as shown by the following addition of My skins pack of skins.

I have three addresses in URL. Any way to automatically delete Boxofficemojo URL?

Thanks for the help.

As far as I know (I hope I am not mistaken), the URL can only be removed manually, which is a large number of movies in the database is a time consuming task. However, if you leave the url address, you can at any time without further search you visit a website a certain film if you might want to check what any other information on the website, script whose data could not be transferred.

For new entries, there is a simple solution in the script which prevents record URL:
Code: [Select]
procedure ParseMovie(MovieURL : String; HTML : String);
var
curPos, endPos : Integer;
TmpStr, TmpStr0, TmpStr1, TmpStr2 : String;
begin

//Get ~mfURL~ or ~URL~
//AddFieldValue(mfURL, MovieURL);

There is also a solution to keep the URL to this record in a custom field instead of the normal field Url:
Code: [Select]
procedure ParseMovie(MovieURL : String; HTML : String);
var
curPos, endPos : Integer;
TmpStr, TmpStr0, TmpStr1, TmpStr2 : String;
begin

//Get ~mfURL~ or ~URL~
//AddFieldValue(mfURL, MovieURL);
AddCustomFieldValueByName('Boxofficemojo', '<link url="' + MovieURL + '">' + MovieURL + '</link>');

BTW:
I also currently in one of the many movie databases that use them, manually remove specific URLs, which do not want to be in the Url field(about 900 movie titles in database).

Any chance of having this script in the MOD version?

We will see in the future if VVV_Easy_Programing (or even I) can edit the BoxOfficeMojo.com script for the MOD version. It depends on whether it can be arranged in such a way, that it will work correctly in the MOD version.

This web has changed his design and maybe now it will be easy to make the plugin.

It uses the same ID than IMDB.

Yes, I'll see what can be done.

Updated:

A new BoxOffice_Mojo_ [HTTPS] .psf script will be ready to use in a day or two. It will also work in the PVD MOD version.

Updated:

A new BoxOffice_Mojo_ [HTTPS] .psf script will be ready to use in a day or two. It will also work in the PVD MOD version.

The BoxOfficeMojo_ [HTTPS] script is based on the Rottentomatoes_ [HTTPS] script and has the same parameters for operation as the Rottentomatoes_ [HTTPS] script.

BoxOfficeMojo.com script

BoxOfficeMojo data:                                           custom field:
--------------------------                                  -------------------

Production Budget                                           Production Budget:
Worldwide                                              Worldwide:

In addition to the custom fields mentioned above, it also has the following custom fields:

BoxOfficeMojo data:                                           custom field:
--------------------------                                  -------------------

Description                                                      Description
Domestic                                                              Domestic:
International                                                            International:
Domestic Distributor                                                   Distributor:   or   Distributors:
Genres                                                                   Genresm    or  Genremb)
Earliest Release Date                                           Release Date2
MPAA Rating                                                            MPAA Rating:
BOMUpdated                                                      BOMUpdated
BoxOfficeMojo.com                                                   BoxOfficeMojo.com

These additional custom fields are added by each individual to PVD according to their wishes, depending on what they would like to see in their movie database.

The following normal fields are also added:
Poster, Title, Year, Description, Genres, Budget, Release Date and MPAA

Search results also contain movie posters. To display movie posters, you need to use the Proxomitron program and proxy settings in PVD.
Quote
You will also need a new default.cfg file, which is added below. Download the file and copy the Proxomitron program folder, to replace the old "default.cfg" with this new "default.cfg" .

It will also act PVD, you must also PVD settings \ Internet connection, find the "Proxy" and confirm. In the "Server" field enter "localhost" Port settings to 80 . Only with this configuration will function properly PVD. PVD is used only proxy port 80.
The same goes for transferring posters to PVD movie databases. Posters use secure Amazon https url links, which PVD does not yet recognize and posters without Proxomitron cannot be viewed or downloaded to the database.

Bing search results don't work. If search results don't work, you can manually add  http://www.boxofficemojo.com/title/ + IMDB MovieID
It uses the same ID than IMDB.
