Proxomitron - next https solution for PVD

Proxomitron - next https solution for PVD

Proxomitron, this is the next solution to the PVD and https connection. With
Proxomitron all Amazon plugins and scripts again they operate. Maybe something else, but certainly none RottenTomatoes script does not work. I checked but so far I have not found a solution for SSL error, it may be more success in the future.

Download Proxomitron files:

From http://www.proxomitron.info/files/ please download the ProxN45j.exe file (but not ProxN45j.zip file). Once you have downloaded ProxN45j.exe file, run it to install the Proxomitron program in your PC .
It is recommended that the C:\ Program Files\ where you installed Proxomitron, folder does not appoint Proxomitron Naoko-4 but only Proxomitron. This is important for later if you wish you may later have  "_start.cmd" (Windows Command Prompt) and also used to run the Proxomitron and PVD at a time together.

Now when we already have this, you need the proper functioning of Proxomitron, the following files (libeay32.dll, msvcr70.dll and ssleay32.dll), which are on the same web page in openssl-0.9.8-mod-rev1.zip file. Download the file, unzip and the previously mentioned files copy the Proxomitron program folder,

It is advisable to also replace zlib.dll file, which is on the same web page in zlib_dll.zip file. Download the file, unzip it and copy the Proxomitron program folder.

You will also need a new default.cfg file, which is added below. Download the file and copy the Proxomitron program folder, to replace the old "default.cfg" with this new "default.cfg" .

It will also act PVD, you must also PVD settings \ Internet connection, find the "Proxy" and confirm. In the "Server" field enter "localhost" Port settings to 80 . Only with this configuration will function properly PVD. PVD is used only proxy port 80.

You can also change Proxomitron.exe file, which is added to the bottom (7z or zip) if you do not like the look of the present. Download the file, unpack and copy the Proxomitron program folder.

Operation Proxomitron program:

1.) Run the Proxomitron program

2.) Run the PVD program

3.) Start any Amazon plugin and then allow or not allow the operation of Amazon plugin

default.cfg is attached.
Proxomitron 7z and Proxomitron zip is attached.

Here are a few Proxomitron links where you can get more information about the program.

Happily, we have finished the "Beta" phase in the PVD MOD and move on to "Release" state.
So, we closed this topic now and we continue in the new topic:

See you all there.  ;D

If the settings of the PVD program for work through the proxomitron are ON, then when using "IMDB_ [EN] [HTTPS] .psf" ALL fields remain empty. When the option 127.0.0.1 is disabled, the fields are filled. Is there something wrong with your computer's network settings?

No. What is needed is to thoroughly read Personal Video Database 1.0.2.7 MOD topic.
Briefly, this MOD supports https with it's main script IMDB_ [EN] [HTTPS].psf and no other IMDb script is developed by Easy, which was his (and ours) goal - not to use Proxo while be able to download data via https. If you want additional set of data not provided by this script, Ivek provided some scripts that work only with Proxomitron, and some without it.

You can find all needed info on that topic.

Best regards

It's a shame. I regularly use old scripts and plugins that only work with proxomitron. For this purpose, I specially created BAT files.  :'(

I wrote exactly about this. It's a shame we cannot create a batch file which would trigger proxy for some scripts and then switched it off for other scripts in order to make mixed chain of scripts in one batch file. Still PVD is superb compared to other video catalogers, and one of the best apps ever programmed while free.

Proxomitron - how to skip SSL certificate verification
« Reply #6 on: January 11, 2021, 10:42:08 am »
Hello there and happy holidays.

At the moment I'm doing allmovie.com mass update of my database. The script is working only through proxo, as we know.

So, when I start mass update proxo asks to allow connection to the site:

but, every 10 minutes or so the same dialogue box pop-ups with the same question. This is very annoying and also nullifies the idea of automated mass update.

Is there a way to skip/void SSL certificate verification errors in proxo, because all the time it's one and only site: allmovie.com?

It looks I couldn't find an human readable answer to my question on proxo forums.

Thanks in advance for any idea

Try Allow for Sessionn, not just Allow. Maybe then the popup window will disappear, at least for me it was like that some time ago, but now I haven't had these problems for a while.

Currently, however, I can't help you with the new solution for the proxomitron.exe file because I had problems with the computer where Win7 OS was loaded. However, I will arrange this in a few days and forward this solution to you.

Thanks Ivek, solution with the "Allow for Session" seems to be working! I thought "session" means one connection for one query so didn't try it...

Currently, however, I can't help you with the new solution for the proxomitron.exe file because I had problems with the computer where Win7 OS was loaded. However, I will arrange this in a few days and forward this solution to you.

The following files (libeay32.dll, openssl.exe and ssleay32.dll) I recommend that you copy them to a new folder first (all the ones mentioned above, which you just have in the program folder) just in case you might need them later. I am attaching a Proxo_OpenSSL_101Q_DLLs.zip (libeay32.dll, openssl.exe and ssleay32.dll) and a ProxomitronReborn_4605R.zip (proxo.exe) file.

Unzip and copy them to the program folder. The Proxomitron.exe file should remain in the program folder where you will use the previously copied proxo.exe file to run the Proxomitron program.

After running the proxo.exe file, the popup window should no longer appear, at least for me it no longer appeared.

Proxo_OpenSSL_101Q_DLLs.zip and ProxomitronReborn_4605R.zip files is attached.

Thanks Ivek,

I hope your Win 7 is now top notch. At the moment I'm doing mass IMDb update, so cannot check it in a few days, but will let you know once I finish IMDb update.

I put those dll's and proxo.exe to proxomitron folder, and now I can see new "HTTPS" tab in config. Should I check "Use SSLeay/OpenSSl..." option in "HTTP" config tab?

Also, where to put openssl.exe? I already have installed openssl from earlier and it's on the PATH already. Do I need this one exactly?

Also, my antivirus found this openssl.exe to bi a virus in this zip archive. Should I be worried?

Thanks Ivek

Welcome.

I hope your Win 7 is now top notch.

Yeah, it works like you mentioned. But I need some more time to install all those programs that I will need. I need to find some programs on the Internet, and also test several programs to see if they work properly according to Win7 OS. It has already happened that a certain program was not compatible or suitable for this version of Win7 OS.

I put those dll's and proxo.exe to proxomitron folder, and now I can see new "HTTPS" tab in config. Should I check "Use SSLeay/OpenSSl..." option in "HTTP" config tab?

Maybe because I don’t have this window myself and I don’t know what happens if this box is checked.

Also, where to put openssl.exe? I already have installed openssl from earlier and it's on the PATH already. Do I need this one exactly?

In the Proxomitron folder, because there must also be a libeay32.dll and ssleay32.dll file. All three files must have the same modification date (26.12.2015), otherwise the proxo program may have problems with operation or startup.

Also, my antivirus found this openssl.exe to bi a virus in this zip archive. Should I be worried?

I am using NOD32 which did not detect any virus in the Proxo_OpenSSL_101Q_DLLs zip archive file. Some Antivirus programs detect this file or one of the files in it as a virus.  As far as I know, it was mentioned on the forum where I found this file that this file does not contain viruses.

I'm also attaching default.cfg to help you look at certain combinations for web pages under the [HTTP headers] format. You can then put certain combinations in your default.cfg file.

This pop-up should not cause any problems.

Even if such a pop-up window still opens, check Allow for Session. The operation of the Proxomitron program should be normal and then there should be no more such pop-up window until you restart the Proxomitron program.

Specifically, when I now use these files for the Proxomitron program, when using and testing Amazon scripts, I no longer have such a pop-up window. I don't know what it is like to use AllMovie.com scripts, because I haven't used them for some time.

However, I will check this in a few days by testing AllMovie.com scripts. and which version of Windows OS you are using. It was like that with my old Windows7 OS. How it will be now that I have a newly loaded Windows7 OS, I will only see when I start testing several different scripts in the next few days.

Ok, thanks. I'll do that.

Thanks. I don't think this window will popup again, after first "Allow for Session" press. I'm using Win7-x64, but curently testing PVD in Wine under Linux. For now I have loaded it, but can't load menu bar, and importing data from internet seems to cause only "Too many retries..." errors... But that's another story, not related to the topic, sorry.

One more digression: any news on the horizon about RT script revamped?

I have a suggestion to unzip the fresh PVD_1.0.2.7_MOD-V20191020 version to a new folder on Win7-x64. This will also make it easier to identify any malfunctions in the PVD and Proxomitron program.

PVD_1.0.2.7_MOD-V20191020 is only used there to test certain movie titles with different scripts and Proxomitron program to see if everything works properly. However, you update the original database only after everything works ok.

As for the AllMovie.com script, it works flawlessly for me with the new Proxomitron files and the default.cfg file attached above on the newly loaded Windows7 OS version.

One more digression: any news on the horizon about RT script revamped?

The RT script update is not in the first place at the moment, but it is on the waiting list for updates in the future, when I will prepare and update the IMDB and Amazon scripts. However, I took a quick look at the RT website and noticed some things that might be causing problems with updating the RT script.

So far so much with news on RT scripts.
